I thought it would smell fantastic

I really enjoy the aroma from Asian style peanut oil and use it as salad dressing oil. I used to buy it from 99 Ranch Supermarket. Turns out this time the oil is different. This one is more suitable for deep frying or cooking. I googled their difference. This refined one has a neutral aroma (you almost smell nothing in it), but the cold press peanut oil or roasted peanut oil always smell very well. I guess I made the wrong choice. But would still keep it for cooking.

WindyCityGal

To anyone who might have read WindyCityGal's comment below, peanut oil IS a vegetable oil. So if your fryer says use only vegetable oil, go ahead get the peanut oil which has a higher smoke point than many other vegetable oils. (FYI- olive oil is technically a vegetable oil, but not good for deep frying so pass on that for your fryer.)

LouAna Peanut Oil is the Best Tempura Oil!

I bought this for making tempura. It worked great. I accidentally took the oil to 426° fahrenheit ~ no smoke, no bad effects! The oil did not have any special scent before I cooked with it, but it gave the most incredible flavor to both the sweet potatoes and the shrimp that I cooked in it! I'll always recommend and use LouAna peanut oil for tempura or frying! It was priced really competitively!

Good stuff!

Price has gone up since I last purchased this but it's still a value. Especially since the 3 gallon version of same is 19 bucks online as opposed to 18 or so here!!! Makes absolutely no sense. So this is my preferred size. Cooking at proper temperatures means it doesn't absorb as easily into the item being fried and is not greasy. I have no problem with this product and will continue to buy.

Great for wood finish as well

Just refinishd my oak nife rack, and several wooden handled knives. Made the cutting board shine. My next project is a 200 lbs. Butcher block. What a great finish

Pnt oil

It was there on time, but the top was smashed in. No leaks, but I had to transfer it to another bottle. Lost some because of the way it was smashed, but overall it was there on time.

The only brand I will use!

If you want light and crispy fried food, this is it. Other brands I tried were a big let down......onion rings and egg rolls came out soggy and heavy. as did other things I fried. This is a keeper.

Couldn't tell if it was peanut oil

This doesn't have any taste of peanut at all. Even tried just by itself, and no nutty taste. The only way to tell it's peanut oil is from the description on the container.
