I bought this to prevent my 6 .month old kitten from the room with my Christmas tree. It is tall enough and she cannot jump over it. The only issue is, I had go cover the open slots because she was small enough to slip through it. Other than that, it was perfect.

The Regalo-Easy Step Gate is a good purchase for someone that has small children but not for the parent the opening of the gate is small and you have to turn side ways to go through if you have a child in your arms and you are trying to help your toddler through it is impossible this was not the gate for me and I will be returning it.

The gate it's self is very sturdy and easy to put together. The main problem.... the entrance is so tiny. You literally have to turn side ways to squeeze through it if you are the average size adult. If the walk through area was bigger this gate would be amazing. It's a good price. Nicely made. Sturdy and super easy to put up.

I used site to store to make this purchase. It came in a very thin, but large box. As such, I thought it would be too heavy to lift/carry, but it isn't at all. It's actually very lightweight. I made this purchase to keep my five year old yorkie confined to one floor when I have company. It's perfect for this task. It is very tall which keeps him from jumping over it (he can jump higher than three feet), very sturdy, and it still allows me to be able to see him and him I. I have been using this product for approximately two weeks. The walk-through gate is on the narrow side which isn't a problem for us, but for larger people, it may prove to be. I found the installation to be rather simple which surprised me because I am not handy in the least...it will be a lot easier if you have a power screw driver assuming you need to actually screw the legs/arms into a wall. Another good point is the lock feature on the gate. When I locked the gate using the red slide piece, it securely locked and required me to use both hands to open the gate. If I just lock the gate using the fold down bar part and no red slide piece, it seems to still be securely locked, and then I need only one hand to open the gate. In either case, puppy isn't able to open the gate. However, the latter locking method may not work for people with larger dogs (puppy is just over 10 pounds). In terms of decorum, the gate is white as pictured and fits in well with my stairwell and surrounding walls. The price isn't bad either. In fact, I searched for the identical gate on the internet, and it seems when you take shipping costs into account, Walmart has the lowest price. I have no complaints.

Ok so waited almost 2 weeks to get.. I got it received it and tried setting it up. I have crown molding in my doorway. So without the 6" extention which comes with it it was to small and with it did fit but I had to go above the crown molding. I wish they were a little more specific about how it fit with and without the extention. So I ended up calling and they ate shipping a 4 in extention which hopefully will work with the molding. But it's working right now my 2 year old can't get upstairs anymore and the puppy can go under the gap to get to her food. Would I recommend it yes. But I suggest getting your measurements first, calling regalo and making sure it fits before you order. Because they aren't specific about the fitting. They just say fits 29-35". Not if you have a "33in" doorway which extention would be needed to fit. But it's a good product it works. And I would recommend it. But do your research first. And was decently priced. Note: there is a gap that will close itself up when you mount the gate. So don't think it's a manufacturer defect.

We bought this gate to keep our dogs in their bedroom at night. Yes, they have their own bedroom because we didn't want them sleeping with us so we bought 2 gates. Easy to setup and operate. My neighbor found out that her dog peed in her guest room. She has trouble with smell but her guest didn't. She is going to buy one. Thanks CR

Its probably good for narrow straight doors but it is to unstable. I installed it the way the directions told me to but the little thin placement holders aren't that good and can easily be knocked down. Even when secured with the placement holders you screw to the wall.

Brought the gate for keeping my cats in down stair. Good points: The product is easy to install and look good. Drawback: Spaces between steel bars are too big, my cats (all grown and weight between 6 - 8 pounds) can go through them. Suggestion: Need to reduce the spaces between bars.

It is a good gate for what you pay. Its a great height but the handle is a little chintzy. The the red locking button is a little monotonous and the size of the actual gate is quite narrow. Each side has about 6 inches of bar that could have been used as the gate to give it a wider walk through. Overall not a bad gate. Easy to set up and gets the job done.

I have two german shepherds I usually keep outside but I bring inside every now and then if the weather is bad. Our female is quite an escape artist so I needed something that could keep her in. This item was definitely tall enough but it is a little flimsy because my hallway entrance is a little wide. Even with the extensions I can feel its to the last twist almost. The baseboard in my house gets in the way to be able to screw on the bottom pieces correctly so I have them placed at an angle to that plays part in why it doesnt feel as sturdy. So not a big deal since Ill be changing out my baseboards soon and it will be a flatter surface for them to go in. Regardless though the gate is able to keep in both of my shepherds and especially my 65 lb female german Shepherd who continuously jumps on it.
