We bought this gate for 2 main reasons: 1~keep our very active 2 1/2 year old out of the Kitchen (so she dont hurt herself!!) & 2~ to keep our Lab/Huskey mix dog confined to the kitchen during meal times, when we are out for short times.... The gate is great height & my husband had no trouble putting it up. Only problem is that the gate opening to pass in/out is not very big, it could be a bit wider but the pluses outweigh that. It's easy to open, so small kids at some point will figure it out..Our dog so far has not even tryed to jump up on it. Good gate if your looking for something stronger, taller, & that will last longer than the cheapy plastic baby gates.

I bought this gate because it is very tall. Most gates aren not tis tall. I wanted to put this gate in my hallway so I also bought an extension. This worked for a little bit but the bars are a little bit wide and my cat was able to squeeze through the gate. I wanted a tall gate that my cat wouldnt be able to jump but unfortunately I did not think about the width of the bars. She is a little cat and she was able to squeeze through after trying. She can not jump the gate though. Even though this is pressure mounted, the gate is not stable without using the screws that come with the gate to mount the hardware onto the wall. So I had to put holes into my wall. I did end up keeping the gate. i put the gate on my stairwell to prevent my other cat from coming upstairs. he is a very fat cat so he will not be able to squeeze through the bars. again, i had to mount the gate with the screws and hardaware and i had to put a hole into my wall and stair case because the gate will can otherwise be pushed if the hardware is not mounted. i did like this gate although i wish the bars were closer together.

Installation was simple and straight-forward. Construction appears to be high quality. Main reason for purchase was to keep our high-jumping dog confined to a certain part of the house and this gate is serving that purpose while also providing an attractive looking solution.

I bought this gate to keep my furbabies out of the front doorway so my guests could come in without a stampeed trying to run out the door. At first I was a little worried ith bars were too far apart & theyed get through being that their small dogs. Nope! The gate is absolutely perfect, except ONE little issue, from the picture shown in the website ad, it appeared to fit a wider doorway, ie extensions for a proper fit. Which is the main reason I purchased this gate. It only comes with 1 small 4in extension. I now need to order another extension to have the fit I want. Other than that. The height is also perfect if you have any problems with bending or stooping to open this gate. Again , its perfect for my needs.

This is a very good product. I use it as a baby gate to keep my 9 month old daughter out of places she doesn't need to be. It is well built and sturdy. I accepted ownership of a dog that was being neglected by being left out on an apartment patio day and night, barking his head off, from the time he was a pup. While I am at work he and my first dog stay in the first bedroom with the doggie door. When I come home I let them out into the rest of the house. Then I started seeing the telltale signs this little boy was marking his territory. Tried various training methods, even had my living room area boxed off like a fort! Finally I said, this is my house and I am taking it back! With this gate in the doorway the dogs can see out but can not get out. My house is mine again!!!! I like the height of the gate also as it is at waist height and I don't have to bend down to open and close as I am coming or going. Feels very sturdy and will last many years. Whoopee!!!!!!!

I purchased this to use as a cat gate. We needed to keep our cat out of a room without having to install a full door. This works wonders for our situation because the cat can't jump over it or fit through the bars but yet my 4 year old son can easily open it himself. The locking mechanism is a basic baby gate spring loaded lock so in my opinion it's easy for a 3-4 year old to figure out. I would definitely recommend this gate to anyone, it's a great value and a great product.

Must be square to operate properly. Note, you will have screw holes left in door frame when you remove it, so if you have a rental or that will bother you when you are finished with it..

This is the perfect solution for keeping my little dog out of the living room! I'm not handy at all, but I was easily able to install this gate in a matter of minutes. It is strong, sturdy, and attractive. The handle is very easy to work with one hand, which is nice. I'm definitely pleased with this purchase!
