The mattress felt very firm from the start. It is not softening nearly as much as I want - it's still not like the showroom mattress or the two different soft tempur pedic mattresses I've slept on in the past. I'm 3 1/2 weeks in to the 'break in' period and I hope it improves soon. I'm disappointed - I was really looking forward to a great experience.

I love the TEMPUR-ProAdapt Soft! Almost purchased the medium, but am so glad I chose the "soft". I still get the support I need, but there's lots of cushion so my back wakes up feeling great and not stiff and I don't walk around for 20 minutes like I need a body cast. Purchased the adjustable base also - we elevate it just a couple of inches and now I don't hear the snoring machine next to me!!! Well worth every penny. Thank you Tempur-Pedic.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great product, although the foam seems to hold body heat a bit more than our old conventional mattress. Would have gone with the gel version, but they didn't have it in firm. The "white glove" delivery service leaves a lot to be desired -- couple of guys and a truck -- took all three of us get it off-loaded and up the stairs. They clearly didn't know anything about the frame and set up.

It's fine to sit on or just to relax on. When I go to bed to sleep I find myself miserable. Tossing and turning. If I sleep on my back my neck will hurt, if I sleep on my side my knees and elbows hurt. I got an adjustable base. If I try to sleep at different angles with that it just doesn't help. I've had it for a short time but still have not found a comfortable position to sleep on it yet. I have a lot of different pillows to try with it too and I just can't seem to make this mattress work for me. :( We bought a split king. My husband seems to enjoy it and definitely seems to toss way less then I do.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My first lay down I said "what the heck did we buy?" - it was not soft. Then by the 5th night, I realized I hadn't woken up with back pain in 5 nights. We're a month in and I'm very happy! Takes time to adapt but it's fantastic- also when I sleep on my side, my hips don't burn! It's not too hot either which I worried it'd be.

I was skeptical to purchase the actual TEMPUR-ProAdapt Hybrid. For one, the cost was intimidating and two, we had an off brand Memory foam that didn't last as long as I'd hoped nor did I experience much relief. My husband and I both suffer from recurring back and neck pain - due to herniations, disc degeneration etc. Getting up early because my back hurt too much became the norm for me. (And when I say early I mean 4:30 am regardless of what time I went to bed). I then herniated another disc that had me wheel chair bound for a month. After that experience, and thankfully I'm almost pain free now, I decided to spend the money because, if your health is off your whole life is off. We have had the Tempur-proadapt hybrid split King and I am SO SO very happy we invested in our health. The zero gravity feature is amazing to let your body relax right before sleep. I'm sleeping all through the night (hardly ever did that even when my back was healthy) and actually want to stay in bed in the morning. I'm amazed and will never go back to a regular mattress or an "off-brand" memory foam!!!!

The firmness of the ProAdapt is taking some getting used to, but it is getting much better. My husband is sleeping better than he has in years. He has back issues and has not been able to stay in bed all night, but that has changed with this Tempur-Pedic mattress. Highly recommend it!

I'm usually a side sleeper, but I've slept on my back with little or no back pain when I rise. I'm happy with my purchase.
