[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got my first KitchenAid item, a 5-quart stand mixer, back in 1994 and have added to my collection whenever possible because their items are so useful and well-made. I have an immersion blender from another brand that I often use for soups, but I loved the idea of a cordless one because it would be safer to use at the stovetop than one with a cord. First, KitchenAid did a great job with the packaging with a minimal amount of styrofoam. And this blender has a very useful snap-on guard to protect cookware from the metal head of the blender. This makes me feel much more confident using the blender in my enameled cast iron cookware. I hope that KitchenAid will offer replacements at a fair price. I plugged the charging cable in and juiced up the battery/ The indicator light turns green when the battery is fully charged. The blender has a decent heft to it with the battery, but it is well-balanced and comfortable. I especially like that instead of a dial control, the variable speed is controlled by the depth to which I press the finger grip button. It is very intuitive. The first time I used it to blend a pudding icebox pie. That was two full minutes of blending, and it performed beautifully with no protest. The filling was delightfully smooth. Next test on the same charge was pulverizing one cup of rolled oats for my husband's instant oatmeal. Instead of a mixing bowl, I tried to perform this task in the included mixing cup. This was not the best method, requiring several lifts and shakes to finish the task. The third test, which really impressed me, was chopping 2 dozen hard cooked egg yolks for deviled eggs. They became perfectly blended in under 30 seconds, and the blender has not started slowing down yet. Cleanup is a cinch - i squirted a bit of soap into the mixing bowl with some warm water and blended that. The included mixing cup has a narrow non-skid ring on the bottom, and there is even a soft plastic cover for it. The user manual refers to another model that includes a whisk attachment and adapter, as well as a small chopper bowl attachment. If KitchenAid is reading this, I hope they will offer the whisk adapter and attachment separately. With a whisk, I could completely replace my old immersion blender. So far, my only complaint/caution is that you need to take special care to make sure that the blending arm is firmly attached to the motor body. There is not a separate release button; it twists off. You need to be certain that it firmly clicks into place, or the blending arm can pop free of the motor body. All told, however, this is a very-well made blender that I fully expect will offer many years of service.

It is so easy to use that I have tried a lot of different items to make smoothies. It will chop up ice pretty easy as long as you don’t put in too much at once. as it is cordless you can take it anywhere. It only takes two hours to come to a full charge.

It definitely is like a nice mini blender that can whip up some smaller stuff, but not ideal for bigger blending jobs.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got the KitchenAid variable speed hand blender in a matte black finish. It looks and feels professional. It has a heavy weight to it, which makes it feel durable to me but it could make it difficult for someone to use for very long in one session. It came with a pan guard which is nice so my pans don’t get scratched but it is a plastic piece that I’m not sure will hold up well over time. I love that the blender is cordless so I can use it wherever I want without finding a place to plug it in or the cord getting in the way. It seems to charge up fast, full in about 2 hours, and lasts a long time on one charge. To use the blender, you have to press two buttons at the same time. There is a large button on the palm side that has to be held down for the variable speed button to work. This is a good safety feature but can be difficult to manipulate. Also, the variable speed is one button that varies with how far you press it in. My hands aren’t huge, so it was tough for me to hold both buttons and try to vary the speed. Overall I think it is a great hand blender, it just might take me some more practice to get used to!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This hand blender has been great for small batches of salsa because I can make it right in the mason jar it'll be stored in making for less dishes to wash. I was a little worried about about how much it would actually be able to blend being battery operated but it packs quite a punch. It's been great using it to blend stuff directly on the stove without having to worry about running a power cord across a hot stove top. I also like that it comes with a plastic guard to keep nonstick pans safe from scratches.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Kitchenaid Variable speed cordless hand blender is the best for whipping up a perfect smoothie , or creamy mash potatoes. The charge last a longtime and it is easy to keep clean. It has a guard to protect the blade when not in use. I plan on buying a few of the attachments it will help with making whipped cream. I would highly recommend this product even though it is a little heavy.

It has a soft grip handle which is nice. It also came with a measuring pitcher so I can measure my ingredients before blending it. Now I did try this to make some homemade spagetti sauce also and yes it works great. It will whip a egg up fast. This is great to also make frappuccinos. If you buy this you will not be upset. I will only be purchasing this brand for now on. I like how heavy duty it is so the battery will last you a long time for big meal projects. I would recommend to every chef or home cook. I have already told family about this!

I have used this directly in a simmering saucepan blending my marinara sauce to delight. The detachable blade unit make clean-up a breeze.

I love that it has the pan saving attachment so that way it doesn’t take off the coating on the bottom of my pots. It is very powerful and only has two buttons. For the variable speed in it you adjust your grip firmness from heavy to light. The cup that came with it is helpful. I really like that you can attach it to a few other kitchen aid items.
