Using public transport to get to classes and simply using the noise canceling feature with no music is good for drowning out outside distractions while studying.

I purchased these to replace a 7-year old Bose headset that has been used a lot. I loved the old headset so much I bought another Bose headset. I was surprised at how much better the noise cancellation has gotten. I used it while operating some lawn equipment and I could still hear the music.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I traded up from 16 year old Bose QC 15 headphones, which were great but decided to no longer work. Once I sent in the old headphones the new Ultra headphones were on my doorstep in a hurry. The new wireless Ultra headphones are good sounding and comfortable but I must say the old QC 15 headphones seem to have clearer sound and better dynamic range, hence the 4 stars. But am I happy? Sure am. I’ll be enjoying these for the next 16 years. 😎. And hey…..they’re Bose.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I absolutely love these headphones. I purchased five different headphones on my journey to find what I wanted. These are the only ones I kept. They are comfortable and very quiet. I use them to block out all types of noise in my daily life, from my husband watching soccer on the TV to the yard blowers in the neighborhood to traveling in airports. I continue to reach for them in our over-stimulating world to find quiet moments.

These headphones were a disappointment in one respect -- when you are walking and talking it amplifies background noises so much that it drowns out your voice for the person at the other end! I used to own an earlier version of these headphones -- had them for years -- and never experienced the same issue. So they are great for noise cancellation and listening to music, etc., but you cannot use them to have conversations in public spaces, take meetings on the run, etc. So the upgrade did not really work for me. I am still keeping them, but just need to now carry a wired hands-free pair with me as well in case I need to take calls while I am outdoors. I'm really hoping they can fix this with a software update soon.
