Good Instructions. Started Easily. All A'OK

Tested with toaster + microwave. Adding coffee maker at the same did exceed the iGen2500 max rating. Unplugged the coffee maker and pushed the iGen's reset button. Restored full function without fuss. This unit to be used only in case of prolonged power outage mainly to keep the food in the fridge frozen/cold. And miscellaneous other low power necessities. Feel I made a good choice. After my new purchase test, I followed the supplied instructions for prolonged storage. Pumped out the tank. Then started and ran until completely dry. Then drained the float bowl. Put a squirt of motor oil in the cylinder and pulled the cord a few times. Good to go when the emergency comes!

Just the right size....

Just received this unit. It was packed very well and the setup instructions were spot on. Unit cranked with the first pull and ran well. Not eager for a power outage but am eager to give this unit a real test during our next power concern or camping trip.

Powerful and easy to start

Received the iGen 2500 in good condition. Added oil, gas, and started it up on the first crank. Looking forward to trying it out while dry camping with my 22 ft travel trailer. Best of all the iGen 2500 has enough power to run my trailers 13.5k BTU air conditioner.

Inexpensive, lots of power, easy to use

I have bought the iGen2500 for emergency use when the power goes out. Mostly for fall/winter to run the heat and some lights. So far the generator performs flawlessly and has been easy to use. All I had to do to get it setup was to add oil (included) and gas (you provide). I like the power and the light weight. It is a quiet generator too.

iGen2500 generator works well

I have a larger Westinghouse generator I purchased for power backup to my house and to power my travel trailer when parked at campsites that don't have hookups. That unit is fairly loud and uses a lot of gas. I purchased the iGen2500 because it is smaller, quieter, and has an eco-mode to save on gas. Out of the box and gas added, the unit started right up. I tried using it to power the 15K btu AC on my travel trailer, but the unit required more startup power than the generator could provide at peak. I installed a soft-start device on the trailer's AC unit and now I can run it on the generator. That generator runs great, and I really like the gauges on the front. It's great to see the power it's producing (amps and voltage), and the remaining fuel level. Another thing of note is that the unit comes with a 1 year parts and labor warranty and a 2–3 year parts warranty.

Just the right amount of power for heat

I bought this gen for winter heat in case of power failure. It can power my furnace and outdoor wood boiler with 2 circulator pumps and use very little fuel. My large gen uses about 8 gallons for 13 hr run time. The iGen2500 will run for 40 hrs or more with both heat sources on the same amount of fuel. If I only run the wood boiler it will keep the pumps running for 10 hrs on 1 gallon of fuel! That's 80 hours on what my large gen would use, AMAZING! The iGen2500 is quieter than I expected also. I think it's a great product!!!

Very portable and quiet iGen2500

I purchased this for my Dad to have power at his shed. I want to break it in and test it before I take it to him. I filled it with oil, tested the spark plug tool, It doesn't go on easily, the plastic housing isn't cutout in just the right spot so you have to push the housing over to install the spark plug tool and of course the plug was installed way too tight and took a lot of effort to release it. I don't like that you have to remove the side cover to check the oil as it requires you to have a Phillips head screw driver to remove 2 screws to do so. I poured in exactly 1 cup (8 ounces) of Pure Fuel to see how long it would run. Those things aside, it started fairly easy on the 3rd pull and runs very quietly. I put a simple worklight on it to provide some load and let it run. It ran out of fuel after about 25 minutes so not quite 8hrs of runtime on a full tank (.98 gallon) but maybe it will be more efficient after some break in time. It is very quiet, especially in ECO mode. Documentation claims it's 48lbs, but it feels lighter than that.

Lightweight and quiet

Purchase the igen2500 to use around our property trimming bushes, trees, etc. I have been using a different generator that requires two people to lift into and remove from the back of our RTV. Setup is easy. Just turn it to choke and started on second pull...very happy...

Great design and features

The iGen2500 has a lot of great features and performs very well. The load indicator and estimated run time are very nice. Digital display makes it easy to monitor the generators output and exactly how many watts are being pulled. It starts very easily and the efficiency mode switch allows it to be very quite when it doesn’t have a large load on it. Perfect for camping in the woods or outside party where you don’t want a lot of noise. Highly recommended.

Good price but Leaked gas all over the driveway

The iGen2500 would not start after 15 or 20 pulls. Then the gas began to pour out from under the generator. I quickly unscrewed and removed the side panel to assess why it was leaking (and continuing to leak) gas. I traced it to the drain hose off the carburetor. I was able to pull the drain hose above the carb to stop the leak. I then reviews the Maintenance section of the manual which discussed how to drain the “Float Bowl”. Upon further inspection it seems the “Drain Screw” was left wide open from the factory. I tighten the screw, stopped the leak then it started right up. Now for the gas clean up and cloth wash. They need to take better care at the factory.
