Very impressed

Added oil and gas, pulled the handle and it started right up. I tried to start my RV's 13,500 BTU air conditioner and was really surprised that it had no problem. The displays are good with voltage output, watts using, fuel supply, running hours, hours left etc. So far, call me impressed.

Great

I bought this in case of a prolonged power outage to power my freezer and fridge. I haven't had to use it yet but setup was easy. It's fairly quiet, we could carry on a conversation while standing right next to it. I'm almost looking forward to an excuse to use it!

iGen2500: First Impressions

This is my 2nd WH portable generator. I've been pretty happy with my WHi2200xlt and hope this model measures up. This one arrived in good condition and I've been pleased with some of the thoughtful design features. These include the tethered fuel cap, wide mouth refueling port and an easily identifiable full mark. After the required servicing the generator started on the second pull, the standard I've come to expect from my earlier purchase. Nothing scientific but this seems to run slightly louder than the 2200. It may be a difference in tone, and its certainly nothing unexpected with a somewhat larger engine. Not much to quibble about, but if I did it would be: Maintenance access. I don't know why, but none of these small generator manufacturers seem to think about making the access hatches tool-free. Given the required frequency of oil checks and changes it seems to me that some D-Ring screws could be designed to hold the covers in place.

Great Value

I have only had the iGe2500 for a day, but I did give it a good test with various loads up to 1600W. It started easily and performed very well. I hope it maintains its performance level over time. The engine idle was not quite a smooth as I would have liked, but is no worse than my Honda EU2000i. I love the meter which shows power, voltage, fuel level and remaining run time. I verified the voltage reading against a very accurate meter and it was correct within 0.1V, which is quite good. This unit is a great value, especially since it provides more power than the comparable alternatives.

Great Value

This is the second iGen2500 I have purchased. I was hoping one would run the air conditioner on my camp trailer but it wouldn't do it. It apparently will need two of these units. I also purchased the parallel cord. These units run a lot quieter than my old Coleman generator but they are still a bit louder than Honda. For the price difference it is plenty quiet. Has nice features and runs a long time on a tank of gas. We camped for four days at 7000 feet and it ran everything except the air conditioner. Westinghouse makes a high altitude kit that I'm trying to find and will install in both generators because I live at 4000 feet and most use will be above this elevation.

Nice features

The Westinghouse iGen2500 is not whisper quiet but is much quieter than my old 7500 model. I like the high efficiency mode as it runs a lot quieter with smaller loads. I like the built in display showing various modes. The supplied screw in oil funnel is a nice feature as well. After adding the supplied oil and required fuel, it started with just a few pulls. This is a good size. Any bigger and it would require wheels or a dolly.

Nice portable power unit

I used this unit this past weekend and it was able to handle a circular saw and a jig saw connected to it and the power consumption never went above 25%. Appears to be a powerful unit. Giving it five stars for now but I'll have to see how it holds up over time.

easy start up operation

I got the IGen2500 for emergency electrical power. Very clear instructions on how to start up and operate. Easy pull to start. Only gave it 4 stars since haven't used it except to have it prepared. Will provide another review after I've tested it for a longer period.

Great machine, but not sure about support

I purchased this iGen2500 to be used as a second generator in a parallel configuration. Setup was a breeze, and the inclusion of the oil and funnel was a nice touch. Started up on the first pull and runs quietly and smoothly. My only issue is initially the fuel gauge, which displays as a colored bar and as a digital quantity, was stuck at 0.9L, despite how much fuel was in it. So I called customer support, described the problem, and was told a Technician would get back to me. After 9 days, I have not yet heard anything back from them! Knowing that most fuel gauges work using a float, just today I decided to try jarring the float by dropping the generator about 4 inches. That fixed the problem, so all's well unless it never goes back down? But the fact I never received a call back concerns me... we'll see! Otherwise, great generator at a good price!

Great compact design

This is a second generator for us to use during hurricane season. It will power our portable AC unit. Initial setup was easy and the start process is smooth. My wife loves the display that shows time remaining until empty. The compact size and lower noise level are great if we decide to use the generator elsewhere.
