So far, I'm pleased with this generator. It was properly boxed to avoid shipping damage. I really like the digital information panel. With this unit, and a much larger open frame generator, I feel well prepared. I've never owned a (H) or (Y) generator, so I can't compare them, but the internal components all appear to be top quality. Only time will tell how reliable the igen2500 is. After proving itself over the long run, this machine may get a revised rating of five stars.

Following the quick-start instructions it started on first pull. Very quiet, especially at low load. Powers our 8000BTU window air conditioner, and 700W microwave easily. At under 50 lbs, and with a good handle it's fairly easy to lug around for me. Great for powering our travel trailer when boondocking without annoying the neighbors.

Received Generator in perfect condition with all items enclosed. Added oil and fuel and it started on second pull. Everything works properly. Ran it for a while yesterday and a few hours today with various loads and it didn't miss a beat. I don't find it loud at all. I only plan to use the generator at home during power outages - hurricanes AND ice storms. I will maintain this generator as per the Owners Manual and hope that it will be dependable for many years to come. It meets my needs perfectly.

I Was waiting to get my pair of i2500 , been reading up on them , very good Reviews Nice and light , enough power to run what I want in the RV , so far so good . Also half the price of the Honda's , they look great , parallel cord came with Also oil , plug wrench , and funnel for the oil fill . shipping was good . East to west coast 3 1/2 days. Very happy .

I bought this generator about a week ago and had it delivered to my home. I followed all instructions and started it with the very first pull of the rope start. Shifted from the choke position to the run position after only a few seconds and it purrs like a kitten. I am totally satisfied with this unit and I am hoping that it will run the air conditioner in my Small Motor home and if it doesn't I will still be satisfied as it will be a great little Aux generator to run everything else. Also I have the option to purchase another unit and parallel it with this one to run the AC.

I purchased the iGen2500 as a backup home and portable camping generator or to help someone out that loses power. Living in Iowa with last year derecho I want to be prepared for any future outages. This should be enough to run refrigerator, tv, lights and small heater. I don't have many hours on it yet, but I am impressed by the sturdy quality and lightweight of inverter. It is also very quiet and stores in a very small space which is much appreciated. I researched a lot before making this purchase and am satisfied with it so far and most importantly I will sleep better at night knowing I can have power within minutes of a failure.

The iGen2500 has a lot of great features and performs very well. The load indicator and estimated run time are very nice. Digital display makes it easy to monitor the generators output and exactly how many watts are being pulled. It starts very easily and the efficiency mode switch allows it to be very quite when it doesn’t have a large load on it. Perfect for camping in the woods or outside party where you don’t want a lot of noise. Highly recommended.

This iGEN2500 unit replaces a Cart Gen that gov't paid for, from the 2005 hurricane season which served well over the years, but, the five gallon per 12 hour gas consumption was the reason for my igen2500 purchase. And, as having limited strength after back surgery, the Cart Gen's several hundred pounds weight made for a difficult time in setting up backup power. Since I only needed to sustain the two major appliances that are mandatory during a hurricane induced power outage or other, the fridge and a window AC unit, this Westinghouse unit is PERFECT.... I did some start/run current measurement testing for the fridge and AC with a "peak/hold" clamp on current meter and verified my intended load(s) would work well with the 2500. The fridge start current measured ~ 6.8 amps, with only ~1 amp running. The Window AC, (LG LW6017R) - 6000 BTU unit measured ~ 13 amps starting with an average 3.3 amps running. These measurements were made running on the iGEN2500 power to ensure the start currents were OK. The 2500 has the reserve power to start my Window AC with only the monetary "kick on surge" to get up to speed. With these two loads, (and a handful of LED lights), I am expecting the ten hours per tank/gallon of gas as this load is measured at about the 25% load rating. So, if you are in need of CLEAN sine wave power during a power outage this iGEN2500 is just the ticket.... It is recommended that you use the supplied oil - for break in and being a "bit" an-l, I changed the oil after only a 15-20 minute warm-up just to give a clean flush before the break in.and refilled with a regular oil during break in Be certain to let the gen warm up at least 5 to 10 minutes if possible to prevent a "hard-ON load" when first started - just common sense.... After several break in oil changes with VARYING LOADS, hitting 1.97 KW output without any problem for a 5-10 minute run. (Always cool the gen running with NO load for ~ 10 minutes before shutdown). I am now running Valvoline Full Synthetic High Mileage 10W-30 oil with supposedly the extra additives that provide the best protection. Again, oil is cheap, even full synthetic, so change it often. P.S. Do NOT buy/use any "synthetic blend" as these are rip-offs often containing less than 10% synthetic oil but at darn near the price of full. Buy FULL SYNTHETIC only. AND, do not be cheap, use ONLY E-0 Ethanol FREE gas for this and ANY gas powered gear you may have. Lastly, use a gas stabilizer in the fuel also. I keep my generator tank near full for storage as I am a believer to keep the seals and gaskets "wet" so as to not dry out and very probably leak when filled with gas. NOT a ding on Westinghouse, it is just a practice I perform and I know that my IGEN2500 is ready to fire, with only one pull - every time.

All the tools and oil and manuals were included and easy to read and follow the directions. will be doing the start up and break in later today. The only thing was the cover for the spark plug doesn't fully seat on the case, found some flashing in the slot and removed, and its better, but still not all the way.

I purchased this generator for running a small air conditioning on a boat and as a backup generator to power essentials in my house in the event of an extended power outage. The igen2500 easily fits the bill. Its light, has plenty of power and is easy to start.
