The iGen2500 would not start after 15 or 20 pulls. Then the gas began to pour out from under the generator. I quickly unscrewed and removed the side panel to assess why it was leaking (and continuing to leak) gas. I traced it to the drain hose off the carburetor. I was able to pull the drain hose above the carb to stop the leak. I then reviews the Maintenance section of the manual which discussed how to drain the “Float Bowl”. Upon further inspection it seems the “Drain Screw” was left wide open from the factory. I tighten the screw, stopped the leak then it started right up. Now for the gas clean up and cloth wash. They need to take better care at the factory.

I bought this a bit ago and it is perfect for our needs. Portable and quiet and enough power to keep key appliances and devices on in case of an outage. Not nearly as expensive as many of the other inverter generators and will be great for our family.

I'm a female homeowner who has never owned or used a generator. I bought this Westinghouse inverter generator because our electricity provider often shuts off our power for days at a time here in California when the Santa Ana winds are blowing during fire season. I'm looking forward to being able to at least power our refrigerator, some lamps, and a few other things. I haven't used the generator yet, but I just finished reading the entire manual, and I have to say that I am very impressed by how well the manual was written. It is easy to understand, and it did not repeat the same thing many times over like so many manuals do. I chose the Westinghouse iGen2500 for several reasons. It is only 48 pounds, so I can easily lift it by myself. It gets great reviews from people who have used it. It has a fuel gauge. The LED screen and indicator lights make monitoring it easier than other brands. I'm really looking forward to using this during the inevitable public safety power shutoffs that will be coming soon. Having read the manual and understanding it, I'm already pleased with my purchase. I'm going to keep a log book of the hours and time used so that I can strictly adhere to the maintenance schedule.

RECENTLY PORCHASED PACKAGED WELL, NICE WELL CONSTRUCTED, SIMPLE FILL OIL AND GAS AND STARTED EASILY. QUIET, RAN FOR ABOUT 30 MINUTES DIDN'T APPEAR TO USE MUCH GAS, ALL I DID WAS RUN A SHOP VAV OFF IT ON AND OFF AS INSTRUCTIONS SUGGESTED OF COURSE WITH NO MAJOR STRAIN AT ALL ON GENERATOR. QUITE PLEASED WITH PURCHASE

Arrived in pristine condition, well packed in box without too much waste to dispose. I removed the spark plug, no issues at all with it and the gap was to spec. Very small amount of gritty debris in fuel tank, but it has a filter, so no problem. Added provided oil, replaced original oil filler screw plug with previously purchased aluminum plug with a magnetic tip to collect any ferrous material floating in the oil. Turned the engine control knob to choke, pulled starter rope slowly until I could feel the compression, allowed rope to retract and then briskly pulled and motor started well before the rope was fully extended. After a couple of seconds moved control knob to run and unit runs smoothly. Power tests ok. Quiet enough. Display panel is a nice feature. Since this is purchased for emergency backup power, for better or worse, this is one of those things I hope to put on a shelf and never see again. I'll prep it properly first.

Recently purchased this generator, filled the oil and fueled it up and started on the 2nd pull. Runs great and I would highly recommend this generator. I did a lot of research and this IGEN 2500 ended up at the top of my list. I think it's a real good value and looks to be a well made generator. The features were another reason I chose the IGEN 2500.

I bought the generator because of the good reviews on specialty websites, not sales sites. The unit is much quieter than my large regular generator and so easy to pull and start. The LED display with electronic fuel gauge, load, and estimated runtime is just icing on the cake. Very happy with the purchase.

I bought this last year in case of power outage and finally had to pull it out. I just ran it for a couple hours and so far so good. Occasionally, the engine rev up for a while which is loud. Otherwise, it is fairly quiet. I like the fact that it's pretty fuel efficient. It is able to run the sump pump, refrigerator, 130w laptop, internet stuff (modem/firewall/access point) and few other accessories without issue. What I don't like is the fact that I had to pull a few time to start it.

I have only had the iGe2500 for a day, but I did give it a good test with various loads up to 1600W. It started easily and performed very well. I hope it maintains its performance level over time. The engine idle was not quite a smooth as I would have liked, but is no worse than my Honda EU2000i. I love the meter which shows power, voltage, fuel level and remaining run time. I verified the voltage reading against a very accurate meter and it was correct within 0.1V, which is quite good. This unit is a great value, especially since it provides more power than the comparable alternatives.

Received unit today and followed the user manual instructions concerning oil fill, fuel / stabilizer and starting instructions. Two pulls and it started and ran as it should. I purchased this for emergency loss of power situations and am confident it will serve us well.
