Bought new - would not start out of the box. Had to remove covers, adjust choke, charge battery...not difficult, just a pain. Service access sucks. Why is the access panel to the carb, choke, throttle screwed on? Should be an quick release panel - especially with the starting issues.

I just received my iGen4500 generator, everything was intact, opened box to find no damage. filled with supplied oil and add gas the unit started up on the second crank let run for about a hour had no oil leaks and was very quit. Checked voltage on receptacles, voltage was spot on. Plugged in to camper and tested how it ran under load, runs almost all the equipment at same time ie( AC unit, Refrigerator, Microwave). I upgraded to this generator from another brand due to a friend buying one and have great luck with it. Cant wait for hunting season to start.

We purchased this generator as a dual purpose unit. When we travel with our travel trailer and if we lose power at home. It's perfect for our needs and will run EVERYTHING in the RV and every essential item in the house. Upon arrival, setup could not have been easier. Read the instructions, filled with oil and fuel, connected the battery and started it up. Incredibly easy and very quiet. My wife and I were able to have a normal conversation with the generator running within 20ft. A little disappointed with what appears to be rust around the gas tank opening. Brand new unit and rusty around the fuel? Not comforting. The only thing we could hope for would be a lighter unit. at 98lbs it's heavy, although easily managed with two people lifting it into my truck. It can be done solo, but having a friend is much easier. So far, we love the generator and would definitely buy it again.

Got my iGen5000 a month ago and I've put 15 hours on it so far. Works just as advertised, and I love the key fob start/stop. Only problem is the fuel gauge consistently reads about 40% the actual amount of fuel. Other gauges in the data readout that use the fuel gauge also affected.

Right out of the box, the generator started perfectly. We turned it off, and tried to turn it back on but it wouldn't start. Did a quick search online and found that during rough transit, there are some connectors behind the front and (right) side panel that can become disconnected and cause the model not to start. Removed the panels, connected the wires up, put it back together and it started right up again! Still giving it 5 stars, because I can't fault Westinghouse for connectors coming undone during shipment. That said, I do wish the above fix had been included in the "troubleshooting" section of the owner's manual. Works as advertised, no complaints.

Our family decided to buy the iGen4500 to be done with running two generators to accommodate our RV. We couldn't be happier with all the features that this model offers including remote start. The remote start was a first for us and is now and forevermore a requirement. The fact that there is an "eco" mode is a plus as well. Makes weekends, dry camping, at the lake a lot easier! Five stars!

I’ve been borrowing my buddies Westinghouse IGen 4500 for several weeks now and I have been extremely impressed with this generator. I recently bought my own, my family and I like to camp off grid in our rv as much as possible throughout the year. This generator has been able to keep my air conditioner, all my appliances, plugs, lights, tv, and some other equipment running at one time during the summer and does everything I need it to do in the winter aswell. It’s very quiet so you can have it running at night while everyone is sleeping without bugging or waking anyone. It shipped to me in perfect condition and required very little work to get the generator started and running. I give the westinghouse IGen4500 5 stars because it deserves it.

Seems like a solid, well-designed product with excellent data displays to keep you aware of operating characteristics. Good instructions. Well packed. But as I was setting it up, it felt a bit flimsy. For example, bolts were missing in a couple of crucial places, and the plastic housing seemed flimsy. Didn't want to complete the setup until the missing bolts were replaced.

Fathers day trip. Set up camper as if off grid (had fathers house as reserve). Wife ran air conditioner ALL THE TIME. Unit ran 24 hours a day. Only cut it off to add gas. Then she was quick to start it from the camper remotely. Had no problems the whole 4 days we were there. Next time we both go out (boon docking) I'll Bring two 5 gal gas cans so I don't have to stress about making sure I have gas. All in all, I am very pleased with this unit. She ran everything she needed to while we were there. Now she has no excuse NOT to go off grid with me.

I purchaced this unit a month ago and I am so glad I did. Thankfully our weather has not knocked out our power yet but at least I have piece of mind that we are prepaired for when the time comes. Compared to my older open unit this unit is very quite and can handle our esentials when needed.
