Product is as described. Had issues with the auto choke function initially. Thankfully I found a service bulletin online. Seems the wiring can jar lose during shipment which affects the electronics. Fortunately I'm mechanically inclined and was able to reconnect the wiring following the service notice. Once done the gen works nicely. Would suggest this element of the equipment be modified to reduce shipping failure point.

I removed it from the box, connected the battery, installed the supplied oil, filled the gas tank, turned on the fuel, turned on the battery, pressed the start button and immediately it purred to life. I connected my heat gun and it worked. My only disappointment is that the digital read out is in metric liters and kilowatts. I did a google search and found charts to convert them (see attached).

I received the generator promptly after ordering. After connecting battery, adding oil and gas, it started right up. It needs to run 5 hours at no more than 1/2 load to “break in” the engine (good to know… you can’t just start it up and use it for trailer’s a/c). Good purchase.

I just bought this and the setup and startup was easy. It started right up. I tested it on our camper and power tools. Ran great with plenty of power. I bought this unit because of the good reviews, price and how quiet it was supposed to be. It was all of that. Can't wait to take it out camping

The generator is a great generator that performed admirably during an RV weekend at a football game. It was able to operate the RV with AC going and multiple electrical appliances running. The electric start is a great feature as well as the large gas tank. I was able to fill up the generator before bed and it ran 9 hours. No more getting up at 3 am to fill the tank! The display shows how much gas is in the tank, estimated remaining run time and also output. This is a great generator. The only negative thing was that the automatic choke stuck and when I called to report the problem, the technician was already aware. Would have been nice had this been tested before the unit shipped. Still the technical support was great and they shipped the new part as well as assisted in a temporary fix.

The iGen4500 model is exactly what I was looking for in a portable generator. Camping without full or partial hook-ups have always been a struggle, but not now! This generator will run our air, lights, microwave, and other appliances with ease. Now we can camp at the best locations without having to sacrifice our simple camping pleasures!

We just had a day long power outage due to weather. We live in a remote location, so these are not unexpected. With the inverter, we have power to support refrigerator, microwave, internet, tv/satellite receiver and plenty of household lighting. With a wood stove for heat, a couple of fans move the air around the cabin nicely. It runs more quietly than I had expected after experience with a much smaller inverter that seems louder than the iGen4500. Runtime is excellent, so I can sleep through the night without refueling.

I bought this due to a fire at my house and I am very happy with the decision. The generator is quiet, provides energy to high tech items without any issues. The remote start is a great feature. The manual shows a different layout on the control panel than the generator that I received so I am planning to request an update. The only downside for me is I wish the gas tank was bigger. I am considering purchasing a second and a connector cable to run the entire house in the event of an extended power failure.

I bought my 4500 inverter last November. Pretty happy with it so far. I wish I would have bought the inverter that would accept gas or gas. My sourness towards Westinghouse is the cover they give you if you fill in a feedback request. Which I did. And, if you did fill this out they would give you a cover for your generator for FREE! The problem is, it doesn’t fit over your generator. They say it’s “ snug”! It doesn’t fit! They will send you a link of where to buy one that does fit…. How funny is that? Not a big deal for me! I just hate the false promises.

Unit works good for what we will be using it for. Will run everything on my 5th wheel trailer we need on at a time. Very quiet unit. The only bad thing, I can say is about the filling and changing the oil is a pain. Hard to see how much oil your putting in the unit. To change the oil, the unit must be tipped. If you spill the oil ends up in areas which make it hard to clean up and drips onto the ground. You would've thought engineers or designers would've done a better job
