Starts on first try. Very quiet

I purchased the iGen4500 on June 1st 2021 for the upcoming hurricane season. I have two neighbors that always provide electricity through extension cords but I had concerns about the "cleanness of the power coming through. I was attracted by the iGen 4500 long running time, quietness and impotantly, the clean power provided by the inverter

Outstanding features at a great price!

This generator met all my requirements for an emergency generator for my home. The unit appears well-constructed, and fired right up! All components working as advertised. The IGen4500 runs quieter than I imagined. I especially like the data display.

Pleasantly suprised!

My review of the iGEN4500 is based on owning a Westinghouse WH2400i prior to this purchase. The iGEN4500 is roughly twice the size physically and in power. The iGEN4500 has more bells and whistles; electric and remote start, larger fuel tank, stronger engine, and carrying handle. Unfortunately, the iGEN4500 did not improve on the oil filler location. It is still troublesome to fill and not get oil inside the compartment. Access the internal on the iGEN4500 is better than the WH2400i. All is necessary is to unscrew some screws and you are in. I'm torn on gas consumption, though. I could get 14 hours on 1.4 gallons of gas with the WH2400i, but I get 22 hours on 3.4 gallons of gas with the iGEN4500. I really wanted the electric start so I was willing to accept the higher gas usage of the iGEN4500, or at least I think I do. Now, the most recognizable difference has been in sound (loudness). I believe both the iGEN4500 and WH2400i have the same decibel rating but to my ears the iGEN4500 is noticeably quieter. I really despise companies marketing generators as quiet and/or super quiet. It has to be as stupidest as calling power banks solar generators. Generators are not quiet, but I will say the iGEN4500 , compared to the WH2400i completely took me by surprise. In my book, there are two wins in the iGEN4500 column, electric start and less generator noise. Just like the WH2400i, I do not plan to put many hours on the unit. It will only see occasional use. But it is nice to know I can move the unit easily outdoor, run an extension cord to wherever my load is, go back indoors, and use the remote start key fob. It will be equally nice to barely hear the generator running from indoors. I hope this guy will give me troublefree operation just as the WH2400i during it reign.

Great value for the money, needs a few quality improvements

When the unit arrived I was quite disappointed with the factory packaging. The side was scuffed, which is not that big of a deal in the long run. However, the oil plug was not screwed in, rather set in, to its port. This meant that lifting it from the box with a slight tilt resulted in oil on my driveway. Not something you expect from new in box product. I called support to complain but got an answering service that was totally incapable of aid. Despite this initial set of bad experiences, I progressed further. Let's start with the bad. The oil plug and oil change process is horrible. It is very difficult to align the threads on the plug to the port. Oil cannot be drained with removal of a plug. The unit must be tilted with the funnel stuck in the oil fill port. The case surrounding the engine provides limited access and makes a clean change impossible. Stuff some shop towels all around the bottom to make this go as smoothly as possible and then clean up the mess afterward. Always expect some oil on the ground for the time following a change as it seeps from the various cavities of the case. Other gripes are the protective covers for the circuit breakers screw on and will ride off with vibration. Found one in the bed of the truck and thankfully knew where it came from. Need to regularly tighten them. Finally, the tank level gauge is hit and miss. I've seen the unit run for hours on 0.0 L of fuel. No, it does not read gallons. The side cover removal includes a top center screw that is machine screw to plastic. It is very difficult to remove or replace due to improper choice of screw. Mine is now marred and I no longer completely set this screw. These should all be hex screws like the lower left corner to avoid such marring. Now for the good. In general, this is the best bang for the buck I could find. The power is awesome. No, you cannot run 2 15K ACs at the same time, but you can run 1 AC and just about everything else. The noise level is great, and you will basi

Great Features!

Our iGen4500 generator arrived today and we began breaking it in by carefully following the provided instructions, which were simple and easy to follow. The generator started easily and ran well. The features on this generator are great. We especially like the remote start and stop capability and the data provided via the digital display. The capability of this generator, e.g. the power output and the runtime, is exceptional. This is a great value. No buyer's remorse here. We look forward to using it on new adventures with our RV (travel trailer). We also appreciate the new peace of mind in being able to keep critical appliances running during a home power outage.

GREAT GENERATOR

came via drop shipping as scheduled without damage. Easy to unbox and assemble. Remote start works great and is very convenient. Produces plenty of power and doesn't bog down with high surge loads. Gas shutoff is easy to access. Included instructions were clear on how to convert the generator to a floating neutral

Just got it!

I opened it up and it looks great!! Fired it up and it is so quiet I can have a normal conversation standing next to it. Used a circular saw and the bolts didn't move nor fit it really get any louder. I then took a few steps away and couldn't even hear it. Went inside and it was silent inside. Awesome generator so far! I was looking for quiet for camping and I didn't go wrong. This thing is quieter that a Honda at 4x the cost of this.

Best Inverter / Generator on the Market: Quiet !!!

Best Inverter / Generator because it has ample start up power for a 30' Trailer with 30 Amp Service. Fuel efficient allows for extended operation on 3 gallons of gas. With reduced load easily over 15 hours of Ultra Quiet Run Time. WELL DONE WESTINGHOUSE!!!

Works great for my travel Trailer and Home

I bought this with the purpose of powering my 30ft travel trailer and as a backup for my home. It ran everything in my trailer including A/C, electric water heater, water pump, and moved the slides in and out and never reached 50% load capacity. Just sitting outside less than 10 feet away and could hardly hear it.
