Good performance for the money, so far

I have only used it a few times so I don't have extensive experience, but it seems to work quite well - so 4 stars, will give 5 if continues like this... a bit louder than I thought it would be, although if under the back porch with door closed you don't notice it too much. The panel showing performance parameters is helpful. I bought a 3-way splitter short extension cord / adapter for the RV plug to make a total of 5 three-pronged house outlets. The manual says to be careful when first filling the oil and this is correct! you only need to put in about 2/3 to 3/4 of the supplied oil at first, I overfilled initially and then drained it out to remove enough to get back to medium/high on the dipstick. Others have mentioned starting and choke problems with this generator but I did not notice this. It's chilly early winter here, 30s and 40s F., and maybe that makes a difference. But from other reviews it seems there may be some sporadic quality issues with particular models. The wheels are very helpful since this is quite a heavy generator.

iGen4500 - Great Product!

My wife purchased the Westinghouse iGen4500 for me as a Christmas gift. I found the manual to be very comprehensive regarding setting up, operating, and maintaining the generator. The engineering and design of the generator are impressive. Access to critical maintenance areas is easy and convenient. The push button electric start and remote start features are game changers. This unit is replacing two Yamaha 1600 watt generators we use for RV camping. Although the wet weight of the iGen4500 is over 100lbs, its roller-board style wheel system makes it easy to move the generator on the ground. With moderate effort, my wife and I together can lift the generator in and out of the bed of my truck. I would recommend this generator for those that need up to 3700 running watts in a single generator.

Best I've ever owned!

I absolutely LOVE this inverter generator! We took it out for the first time this weekend & used it with our big 5th wheel camper trailer. Everything ran perfectly. It's lighter and quieter than our other generators and if I'm being honest, my favorite feature is the remote control to turn it on and off! We use our camper 7-8 months out of the year and it's a fight to get any of us to go out in the cold to have to start or shut off the other generators we'd used. I also like the digital display of how much run time is left. I'd recommend this to anyone...it's definitely money well spent!

Beyond What I Expected

I bought this generator about a month ago. I received it 4 days before the expected delivery date in perfect condition. Added the oil and fuel per instructions and fired off the unit. It purred like a kitten, was very quite (in fact, you can have a normal conversation standing right by the unit). It performs better than I anticipated. Bought the unit to power the travel trailer and as a backup in case we lose power. At this point, we could not be happier with the unit.

Powerful Impressive !

I bought this unit in March 2021, when I received the unit and seen the outside of box, I was just sure I had a broken or scuffed unit! Much to my surprise the unit was not even touched, all due to heavy foam packing protection, that did its Job . Zero defects. I looked the unit over , removed battery door and connected battery , it was a little bit of a chore to hook up plug as it's just long enough to work. Big hands don't help. Located oil fill area, by the way who ever designed the very nice plastic fill funnel that actually threads into the fill hole it's a Rubber seal washer is a Genuis , no mess and it flat works, keeping this. Filled with oil supplies. Reinstall dipstick and always full. Removed fuel cap and and added about a quart of fuel..Turned unit on as well as Fuel , and hit starter button. Fired right up , like I just stopped it ? Great ! Test run everything worked . Fuel, showed, low, I shut off and filled the tank ! Restarts and gauge showed 21 hrs run time , pretty neat .After running for about five minutes hooked to RV, It actually has the 30 amp rv plug , no other adaptor needed . Win! Ran lights and etc! Five minutes , turned on 15 K ac , unit took the load right off, checked load , stated 25%, ok, so I turned on second 15k. Ac, boom checked stayed with load and showed 50 % duty , also each time I put load on time clocked followed with new run time,(Keep in mind that the temp when I did this is like 65 outside .) might change at 100 degrees . But I was very impressed , I ran it for about to hours , changing from one ac to normal lights and back to both Ac units . The Tow handle is a big plus .

Great generator but could use a few more features

This is a great generator but it could use a few more features. It comes with everything you need to get started and everything is pretty easy to use. I do have some suggestions for improvements: The access panel to the engine/choke should be something really easy rather than unscrewing a bunch of screws. If your battery is dead, then you need to access this compartment to put it on full choke before you start with the rip cord. Also, people rarely use their generator everyday so it will be in storage for some time. The manual then suggests to remove the fuel from the float, which again, you need to get to it through the access panel on the side by unscrewing everything. This should be really easy to get to. This inverter generator is quiet but don't expect it to be whisper quiet. My neighborhood home lots are 40 feet wide, and my neighbor would definitely hear my generator on, even on eco mode. Overall, I'm happy with the generator and it's great to have some peace of mind.

iGEN4500

Item arrived undamaged. Sturdy build; nothing loose or missing. Westinghouse made a few enhancements which altered the provided instructions content a bit: e.g. There is now a split connection cable connecting the alternator to the battery which simply needs to be connected to bring the battery online -- both battery terminals are already connected (better design).

Just received, and so far its great!

Just received mine today. Box was in good shape. After purchase I did find some of those stories about the auto choke issue. I did research and easily googled a service bulletin with pictures and instructions on how to check or fix the issue easily. I took the covers off before doing anything and all the connections in the bulletin were secure. I added the supplied oil....The directions say pour entire bottle in, which I now do not recommend...LOL...it was a little too much, likely because there is some residual oil from the testing....I would put 3/4 and then go slow until at proper level.....after that I easily connected battery, added gas and pushed start....started right up....The Auto Choke disengaged after 5-10 seconds and it ran great..... let it warm up a minute and then turned on economy mode.....wow it is quiet!.... Hopefully, it will be a reliable item on our camping adventures.....

Excellent generator - value for money

I bought this a week ago to use during emergency situation to ensure operating my key essential devices like sump pump, freezer, fridge, charging mobile phone and wi fi. So i bought this IGen 4500 to have relatively smaller generator, with reasonable weight easy start Manual are very clear , steps of operation are explained simply in several language The generator itself has relatively low sound compared to other generators available in the market You can start the generator through three ways, pull , button or remote control The generator comes with engine oil yet of course you need to buy the gasoline and gasoline stabilizer. Very high quality and operate for 18 hours with one tank fill … highly recommended if u need a reliable generator for emergency situation

Exactly what I wanted to power my RV AC!

Received my new iGen4500 in perfect condition in a short amount of time. Came with great start up instructions and operating overview. I have many friends that have the same inverter and they have nothing but good things to say about it. Can't wait to hook it up to my RV!
