- 5 out of 5 stars review5/23/2021Beats the Comparable Honda Model/Size/Watts in Quietness, Features and POWER! I really like the Digital read out for all the Run time, fuel level, run time left, etc. Remote Start and Electrical start worked for me every time. The wheels and pull out handle work great. I was worried at first from photos that the telescoping handle and wheels could not handle the weight on grass and mostly flat dirt with a full tank, but it rolls around with ease! Good build Quality. The plastic housing surrounding the generator frame and motor has good sound deadening stuck to it on the inside. Durability is ok enough. It's definitely not a slam around Generator. Remote started worked for me right away and even at it's first start up. Power output is as a...
Best Generator I have ever used and owned!
mjtougeOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 1 out of 5 stars review9/13/2023I purchased an iGen4500 a couple months ago. When l finally got around to trying to fire it up, it would make a loud screeching noise and would not start. I had to take it to an authorized shop, where they had it for 3 weeks, before Westinghouse elected to send out a replacement generator. I went to fire up the new generator, and guess what?!? This one wont start either!! Two generators, and both of them are defective. DO NOT BUY, their products don't work. God forbid I needed it during an emergency, and this thing wont start.
Do not buy..
MilnerOriginally posted onwestinghouse.comCustomer CareHello, We are deeply sorry for the issues you've faced with your generator. Your experience is important to us, and we're c... - 5 out of 5 stars review4/22/2021After long research of many brands and gas verse diesel, I purchased the iGen4500DF for an installation on my 41' live aboard sailboat. The unit has many safety features and routing of the exhaust in a very safe and secure matter was a breeze! The unit is amazing compared to my older water cooled diesel generator! I would highly recommend this unit to anyone wanting safe, quiet and smart generator. It would also be excellent for an RV application. I originally ordered the DF version, but was shipped the non-propane model, however I did end up keeping the gas only model. Although I don't have the flexibility of two fuels, I am very satisfied. Keep in mind this unit is not some traditional break out the generator for a storm every 5 year...
Boat Application
Morgan M41Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 4 out of 5 stars review4/26/2022I bought this April 23. 2022 and the set up was super easy . Even included the oil and a funnel. The best part was the remote. I stood 50 feet area around the cornor of my concrete house to test it and it still worked. Its queit and has many features. It even included a battery charger so that stays charged if you dont use the genrator for a while. My only disappoimtment is that the charger I recieved you have to remember to only charge it once a month and if you leave it on by mistake it could fry the battery. I am working to get a diffrent charger from customer service and at least they are responding so we shall see. But its a minor issure even if frustrating in a otherwise everthing I was looking for in a generator.
Quiet running
Bill LIOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review11/5/2018I recently purchased the iGen 4500 for home use because we tend to lose power several time a year. Today, I started it for the first time - and it was as smooth a silk. The engineering on the machine is quite consumer friendly, especially the telescoping handle -genius ! I did have one question about the initially start-up so I called customer service. My question was answered quickly and with knowledge. Now this is my first impression of the I Gen. I am confident that it will prove true and reliable when I really need it.
Great first impression
Joe DOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review10/25/2018My iGen2500 arrived on time and it took less than 10 min to prepare for start. The engine started just fine on the very first pull - impressive. Easily powers a bathroom heater, will have to check other items later. Looks like a great deal for the money so far.
Very easy operation
SilverfoxOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review10/5/2023I bought this for hurricane season 2 years ago. My hunting camp generator finally died so I pulled this one out thinking I would have to do some extra work because it's been unused for 2 years, but it cranked right up. Also this iGen4500 is very quiet.
Sat in the box for 2 years cranked right up
WTD85Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review3/9/2022Had the item 4500 for a week now. No damage in transit. Followed quick start guide after reading manual, added engine oil, gasoline with stabilizer, connected battery and used enclosed charger to charge. Took off side panel to view choke for first start. Followed starting instructions. Started right up perfect. Was watching choke, worked great. Runs great, low noise, powers everything we plug in with no issues even in eco mode. Like the remote start. We also have a Honda 3000 watt generator, and the 4500 performs just as good or better than the Honda so far....
So far so good.
Go BlueOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review2/27/2021Just received a few days ago and very happy so far. Charged the battery for a few hours with the included charging cord, poured the oil and fuel in and it fired right up. Let it run for a while to gently break it in and ran great with no issues. Pretty quiet for a generator, also.
So far, so good
Jb66061Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review3/24/2021Followed easy instructions to prepare the Gen for it's first run. New battery connection made it even easier, oil, gas, and pushed the magic button and it fired right up. Ran for an hour on both eco and standard with no load for initial break in. Overall very quiet, easy to move around with the wheels and am excited to take it camping!
Fired right up!
yvlockOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 4 out of 5 stars review10/20/2020Generator works great and should do all I need once I got it running. Wire harness to battery unplugged not unbolted at negative post as described in manual. Unit appeared to have been "Test" run and not returned to factory ship condition. That said it is super quiet and starts easy now. Would be nice to receive my out of stock bonus item when they are back in stock.
Inconsistent owners manual assembly instructions.
BigGuy72Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review9/17/2019We bought this generator because of the output we needed to power a DJ for our daughter's wedding and didn't want to listen to an open frame generator. I was amazed on how quite it was. We are RVers and so are many of the people that came to the wedding. Everyone who was familiar with generators and camping that saw this baby in action wanted to steal this for their our use. The remote start is great, fuel consumption is great and over all performance is great!
Awesome Generator
SAPCANMIKEOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review9/10/2021The acknowledgment of my order was near immediate. The generator was shipped the next day and stated it would arrive on Thursday, 6 days from across the country. It arrived as stated! The package was not very damaged at all and the generator was not damaged a bit. Took it out of the box, a bit heavy, read the instructions, filled with oil (bottle contained exact amount), put a bit of gas in it and within a few start attempts it started. Perfect! Let it run for 5 minutes to warm up and attached a 12 amp shop vac and it performed exactly as expected. I really like the digital read outs. Can't wait to go camping with it!
Great Generator
TVHorOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review4/8/2021The iGen 4500 inverter generator fits the bill perfectly for my needs. I am 74 yrs old and live in a modest size home. The generator runs very quiet compared to an open frame generator. A feature I'm sure my neighbors will appreciate when running. It provides enough power to run my lights, refrigerator , 8000 BTU window A/C and blower for my gas central air heater which would have been nice to have had during our power blackout here in Texas during that terrible freeze. Now as I mentioned at the start, I'm 74 and my health isn't what it use to be. No longer able to tote around heavy generators anymore. This little guy comes with two wheels in the back and a telescoping handle tucked under the front panel that makes moving it around easy. A...
More than expected
N5GMKOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review4/4/2021bought generator at the end of November 2020. didn't get a chance to try it because of the long winter until today, easter. didn't realize it had a charger for the battery, but it started immediately with the remote starter after putting oil and gas in it. put both it and my honda eu2000i in my driveway and it is every bit as quiet as my honda. started my ac in my camper with no problem, then it ran both the ac and microwave with 1000 watts to spare. ordered ramp ends to make ramps to take it in and out of my camper. very happy so far.
capacity to run my camper
1lowgradeOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review4/19/2022I bought the Igen 4500 a little less than a month ago. I am extremely happy with the features and the performance of this machine. I had some questions about machine operations and I used the chat option to have my questions answered and it was quick and easy. I'm looking forward to a very rewarding summer on the road and having the option of staying in campgrounds that do not have electric.
Very Happy!!!!!
BringembackOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 3 out of 5 stars review11/10/2020At first start up there was a massive gasoline spill. All over the place. Happy there was no fire. Turns out that the generator is started at the factory and then gasoline drained via the drain in the carburetor float bowl. The employee never tightened the drain nut. This could have caused a fire. The Westinghouse assistant on the phone was unimpressed. Told me he wasn't going to pass along my information to anyone in the company. I've only run the generator for an hour to test it out and it appears to work. But I may not buy any more Westinghouse products.
Good generator with problem
Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review3/28/2024I bought this generator about a month ago for my RV (toy hauler) and it’s able to run all the appliances w/o any problems. It does exactly what I want it to do. After filling it to proper level w/ oil - it started right up. Like it’s eager to get going on another adventure of camping & playing.
It’s exactly what I wanted
KD & JJOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review10/1/2020just arrived. Added oil, Gas and pressed the remote - Runs great. put it under load and it managed fine. I am upgrading a Yamaha 2400is for more Amps to run a travel trailer with multiple AC's, heat pumps etc . Surprised that its nearly the same weight though perhaps even quieter for nearly double to power and a lower price option. Fits under the trucks bed cover..

Peter BOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review7/8/2021Fathers day trip. Set up camper as if off grid (had fathers house as reserve). Wife ran air conditioner ALL THE TIME. Unit ran 24 hours a day. Only cut it off to add gas. Then she was quick to start it from the camper remotely. Had no problems the whole 4 days we were there. Next time we both go out (boon docking) I'll Bring two 5 gal gas cans so I don't have to stress about making sure I have gas. All in all, I am very pleased with this unit. She ran everything she needed to while we were there. Now she has no excuse NOT to go off grid with me.
runs my whole camper with no worries
