The unit started upon receipt and adding the provided oil. We went dry camping and the genset worked initially. I started having issues later that day. Would crank and not start. Then after a bit, would start. The next morning, no joy.Would not start at all, just crank. I looked up i4500 issues and found there is a Westinghouse service bulletin. I followed the instructions, but found that I needed to remove the side cover to get to the connector area. Bottom connector was almost out. Reseated connector and wrapped with electrical tape to ensure it doesn't happen again. Put the covers back on and it works perfectly now. Here's to hoping that was the only issue. MY SUGGESTION: Perform the below check of the connectors as soon as you receive the unit. It might save you some campground headaches.

overall the simplicity of design, ease of mobility and yet formidable power supply allows this generator to be a far superior option to the old generator we had. set up was straightforward, tho overflow of oil fill seemed to occur too easily. one drawback was that we had to open up the chasis to access the choke, which was required to get the generator to start the first time. the choke should be adjustable from outside panel.

I was on the fence about buying the iGen4500 after reading the reviews. So glad I went ahead with my purchase! This thing runs and sounds so smooth, its exactly what I wanted and would recommend it to anyone thinking about buying a high power but really quiet power source. Ps starts first try every time. so far for the size of it very quite I have only ran in my garage but it is going a base camp in Mackey ID and I will have to purchase the high altitude kit but at lest they told me this instead of not getting the full power out of the machine. It will work great gets great reviews and I will add pic's at base camp. I love the fact 3 ways to start it but most favor it is remote start I can be inside the wall tent and start a pot of coffee.

I did a deep internet dive researching comparative products. For the price, this generator is chock-full of many of the features I was looking for. Other products had some of these specs, but not all in one product like the Westinghouse. It also looks sturdy and well made and provides more usable power than other higher priced generators.

Bought this to use with our camper and it has exceeded in our expectations. We specifically looked for a quiet generator with a remote that would run our AC in the high Colorado mountains and it did great right out of the box. We will be recommending this to anyone and everyone!

Love this generator so far.Love the ease of startup and estimate of fuel consumption .Remote feature is nice.I am older and cannot pull start equipment anymore.I use during blackouts and camping in a full size camper and power's everything no problems.

I purchased the generator for my RV. I have used this on my last two camping trips (1week trip and a 4 day trip.Ran great right out of the box. Its main use was to run the AC (90f +all week) I did try loading it with my AC/Microwave/ water heater and lights at the same time Ran all with no issues. Remote start was something i did not care about until i used it. when the camper starting getting hot inside i just reach over and hit remote start button never having to go out side to manual start. I was quieter then I expected. Overall I would recommend this based, Price features and performance.

I cannot say enough good things about our new purchase. We looked for a few weeks, reading reviews and eventually decided on this one - and we couldn't be happier! It is quiet, efficient, and started on the first pull. We will be using it to provide power for outdoor concerts with our band, for camping, power equipment outdoors, and emergency power during outages. Seems like a solid, well-designed product with excellent data displays to keep you aware of operating characteristics. Good instructions. Well packed. But as I was setting it up, it felt a bit flimsy. For example, bolts were missing in a couple of crucial places, and the plastic housing seemed flimsy. Didn't want to complete the setup until the missing bolts were replaced.
