Completely painless setup

This was probably the easiest startup of a new piece of equipment I have ever done. Put oil and gas in the generator and push the button on the key fob. It was that simple. It started immediately and ran great. I ran it at low speed on eco mode for one hour and then changed oil just as a safety precaution. I was impressed how quiet the thing ran. I hooked it up to our travel trailer via the rv outlet provided (No adapters necessary) and it worked great. I ran both refrigerators, the 13,500 air unit and lights and only pulled a max of 2.4k on the meter so there was plenty of power left. Great little machine so far!

Great features and is so quiet.

We bought this for our van. We have transformed it into a camper and with it being summer we really need and air conditioning. I love how quiet it is so we will not disturb the other camper around us. Will definitely recommend this to all our camping friends..

Works great

I bought this generator as a backup for power outages. Then had the opportunity to test it a week later. Easy to setup and the push button start worked first time every time. Power was out for 12 hours. Kept the refrigerator cold, some lamps running and electronics charged. Perfect for my needs.

Nice balance of features.

I'm not trusting Texas power grid this year. Glad I decided to go with this larger size and put on a 30A back feed breaker. Powers entire house with all of the basics running; frig, gas furnace blower, lights, 75" TV/amp, computer, including a 1600W microwave that pushed temporary draw up 3200W. Eco mode drops RPM slightly and extends run time. Installed sliding interlock on electrical panel and moved breakers around a little. Plastic insulated shell keeps it relatively quiet. Runs at lower RPM versus smaller generators at higher more annoying RPM.

Fantastic Product!

Great portable generator; this is exactly what I was looking for to power my RV. Powerful yet quiet, I can run run most all of my stuff using this unit and it's so quiet!, The start-up was so easy using the simple instructions provided and I really liked how simple and convenient you made it with the oil filler funnel (screw-in tube) and the simple battery connection. And this key fob for remote starting - Wow how convenient. You guys Nailed-It with this product! Totally satisfied customer, WDW

Just unboxed

Just unboxed it and did the start up of the generator to test it out with my trailer. It works great and is quiet. Only thing I had a problem with was the gave me the “exact” amount of oil so I poured it all in. Now I have a oil puddle on my driveway because it overfilled it so be prepared and have rags available or fill slowly and check as you go.

Great for backup power

I purchased this unit to power my camper, but the day it arrived we had an ice storm and the power went out. I poured in the oil it came with, some gas I had laying around and fired it up. I ran extension cords into the house to power my coal stove, fridge and tv.

Quiet and Powerful

Update to my Review of 4 days ago. We are still very happy with the iGen 4500, just wanted to report on small issue of the automatic choke. Thanks to YouTube, I found an easy to follow repair. Seems the automatic choke was not connected to the control module from the factory. Took about 30 minutes to repair myself. As stated, we are still very happy with the iGen4500. This thing is amazing!! Love the remote start. And, yes, it will handle the A/C on our Camper without any problem.

Problem From the Start But Fixed By YouTube

Out of the box, the generator would not start. I rechecked all startup instructions but no start. I removed the side panel and manually set the carburetor choke. The unit started. I shouldn't have to do this on a brand new Westinghouse product. There are 2 YouTube videos that explain the very problem I experienced. They are titled "Westinghouse iGen4500 Inverter Generator (Buyer Beware)", dated August 14, 2020, and "Westinghouse Gen 4500 Inverter Generator Repair", dated August 17, 2020. Westinghouse needs to watch these videos. If there are YouTube videos highlighting this issue, and I experienced it too, there must be many, many more units like it. The videos clearly show an quality control issue. The 5 pin male electrical plug that controls the carburetor choke does not lock into the female receiver at the control unit. There is no positive locking connection made during assembly. The connection came loose. Westinghouse can do better than this, or you can concede that the others will be better. My initial impressions and startup of this unit has left a bad taste in my mouth. But the issue is fixed (by me) and I’m willing to allow the generator time to prove itself. I am hoping for the best for my investment. Another issue. The 4500 rated peak watts has a hard time starting my 13,500 BTU AC compressor on my RV trailer. I would think that a 4500 watt peak rating would easily start this unit. Something to work on. Thanks for listening.

Easy operation

I bought this generator the end of October so we could spend more time in the desert with my kids and grand kids. Powered everything in the RV including the A/C with no problems. Very quiet also convenient and maneuverable with the extension arm. Worked very well for our needs.
