I bought this generator after doing quite a bit of research. I wanted a generator that was as quiet as possible while running my rv air conditioner. When I received it, I followed the quickstart guide but could not get it started. After doing some research I found a service bulletin describing the issue and instructing to make sure a connector for the choke is connected. Mine had not been plugged in. After plugging it in the generator starts and runs like a dream. It is very quiet and looks great too. Overall I am happy with my purchase.

Bought this generator for the wildfire control power outages here in N. Cal. Unit works as advertised and I am very pleased with the generator. Very quiet and long running and the remote start is handy. Have run it a total of about 50 hours and it handled all the loads fine.

I bought this generator as off grid power for my travel trailer, after seeing how well one performed on my son's 1' sailing catamaran. We both have put these generators through some tough conditions and harsh environments. We also service and maintain our equipment well. But these things are just plain tough. One of the best purchases either of us has made. I would highly recommend the iGen4500 to anyone who needs tough, reliable portable power.

Needed an inverter generator for our RV. Many friends and family had their own recommendations based on their experiences. Began researching and found the iGen4500. Liked the specs and 3 year warranty so purchased. First use was on concrete in front of a steel building and it seemed rather loud. Second use was in a camping environment with family and friends after it's first oil change. If it was any louder than any of the others you probably would have to measure electronically. As for the best feature, in my opinion, the remote start fob FANTASTIC. We were sleeping with the generator off because we didn't need it to power anything. My wife woke up before I did to get coffee going, picked up the fob, started the generator then coffee. That is a whole lot better then, "will you get up. go outside and start the generator so I can make coffee."

I just set this up and tried it out. It is very easy to operate and is even quieter than I thought it might be. I'm impressed they got this much wattage to come out of a unit as quiet and relatively light as this is. I have not used it in action with the Airstream yet but am confident it will work fine. I read some of the negative reviews before I ordered this (I find the best info can come from the negative reviewers as long as you can distinguish the ones that know what they're doing from the ones that don't know what they're talking about or just want to whine). It seems the worst complaint was having to manually adjust the choke if you were restarting the unit warm. They must have fixed that issue because I could not duplicate it. If anything changes for the worse once tested "under fire", I will update this review accordingly. Summary, thus far this is a great unit that performs as claimed. A great value and highly recommended

We use ours to power our camper and our car trailer. We had a different one that was not capable of running our camper's AC unit. We have 4 other racers at the track we frequent who all use this model of generator. This generator is definitely quieter than our old one and the remote start is definitely a perk!!

I researched heavily before purchasing, and I believe this generator is the best option for RV owners who want to be able to run their AC and still have power left to run other items in their trailer. It's quiet, has great power output, long runtime without using much fuel. The remote start is awesome, I plan to use it so I can have power without getting out of my camper.

I just purchased this generator and have not used it yet but Westinghouse thinks of everything including a good funnel for filling the oil. It appears to be good quality and they have made hooking up the battery even easier with just a plug in. Outstanding features. The layout of the front is not what is shown in the manual so that is something they could improve a little. Once I try it I will probably give it 5 stars.

When the unit arrived I was quite disappointed with the factory packaging. The side was scuffed, which is not that big of a deal in the long run. However, the oil plug was not screwed in, rather set in, to its port. This meant that lifting it from the box with a slight tilt resulted in oil on my driveway. Not something you expect from new in box product. I called support to complain but got an answering service that was totally incapable of aid. Despite this initial set of bad experiences, I progressed further. Let's start with the bad. The oil plug and oil change process is horrible. It is very difficult to align the threads on the plug to the port. Oil cannot be drained with removal of a plug. The unit must be tilted with the funnel stuck in the oil fill port. The case surrounding the engine provides limited access and makes a clean change impossible. Stuff some shop towels all around the bottom to make this go as smoothly as possible and then clean up the mess afterward. Always expect some oil on the ground for the time following a change as it seeps from the various cavities of the case. Other gripes are the protective covers for the circuit breakers screw on and will ride off with vibration. Found one in the bed of the truck and thankfully knew where it came from. Need to regularly tighten them. Finally, the tank level gauge is hit and miss. I've seen the unit run for hours on 0.0 L of fuel. No, it does not read gallons. The side cover removal includes a top center screw that is machine screw to plastic. It is very difficult to remove or replace due to improper choice of screw. Mine is now marred and I no longer completely set this screw. These should all be hex screws like the lower left corner to avoid such marring. Now for the good. In general, this is the best bang for the buck I could find. The power is awesome. No, you cannot run 2 15K ACs at the same time, but you can run 1 AC and just about everything else. I just bought the generator and haven't had an opportunity to use it yet. However, it's a beautiful piece of equipment and runs very well. Filling it with oil was a lot like trial and error. The funnel is very helpful but I had to keep removing it and checking to ensure that I hadn't overfilled the generator with oil. I think it would also be helpful to have a battery status indicator.
