The Westinghouse iGen5000c Portable Generator works great! I have used several other generators, all of which had to be started by pulling on the recoil handle. This generator has an electric starter. One press of the button and it starts right up. What a dream! This senior greatly appreciates this convenience. And it can be done on the device, or with the remote. It can also be done with the recoil handle, should that ever be necessary. The marketing materials indicate this is targeted at RV users. I don’t use an RV; I got this to use at home during extended power outages resulting from weather events, which are becoming more frequent. It came with everything needed to get it up and running (including the oil), except for the fuel (of course). There were even all the tools one might need for maintenance. The Westinghouse runs everything I need, including both refrigerators, with ease. One other that I have used had a lot trouble with the older refrigerator; essentially, it couldn’t handle it. This one has a lot of headroom for starting up attached devices, and ample running power for everything I want to attach to it. The manual is well written and illustrated, so everything one needs to know is quite clear. The one small thing that I found missing from the documentation was the weight of the device. It would be nice to know the weight without fuel. The manual also doesn’t say whether or not to screw in the dipstick when measuring the oil. I tried it both ways, and assumed that it would be OK if the level were in the acceptable range without screwing it in. (I am planning to contact support to see it this is true.)

After long research of many brands and gas verse diesel, I purchased the iGen4500DF for an installation on my 41' live aboard sailboat. The unit has many safety features and routing of the exhaust in a very safe and secure matter was a breeze! The unit is amazing compared to my older water cooled diesel generator! I would highly recommend this unit to anyone wanting safe, quiet and smart generator. It would also be excellent for an RV application. I originally ordered the DF version, but was shipped the non-propane model, however I did end up keeping the gas only model. Although I don't have the flexibility of two fuels, I am very satisfied. Keep in mind this unit is not some traditional break out the generator for a storm every 5 years generator. This is one that's made to use for long runs and operate sensitive equipment such as computers. I run my A/C reverse cycle AC unit, refrigeration, digital battery charger and other digital systems and it works so great!

We purchased this to use with our camper. We are running a 13.5k btu A/C, 11 CF 12v fridge, and a small microwave. With all of these items active (no lights or fans), the generator handled them to 75% capacity. I was impressed. I only wish it was just a little bit quieter. My buddy has a champion and his is 1000 watts larger and it is a little quieter than ours. Overall, very happy with the purchase!

Bought this in February with plans to use it with our 5th wheel. Size is nice and it powered up our appliciances and batteries. We haven't had a chance to test it with one on the A/Cs yet. If it works well to run at least 1 AC we will buy a 2nd one and the combiner cords.

Just barely out of the box, started up great with the pre-charged remote battery. Selected this unit for the clean power feature to run PCs, TVs, freezers, etc at home during power outages so as to bot damage any electrical equipment. Only feature it's missing is a multi-fuel/propane option (therefore only 4 stars), I don't believe they offered one with that at this time. Will be back later to update rating after more use.

I bought this Generator in September for my travel trailer. I wanted to be sure I had enough power to fully power the 30 amp circuit with no problems. This generator definitely fit the bill. I have taken it on a hunting trip and of the 4 groups I was with this was the only generator that could also power a compressor, We had some flat tires. This generator is also remarkably quiet and long last. You can easily have a conversation standing right next to it. This is an outstanding unit so far.

I’m very pleased with the product. It didn’t take long to set up and I had it running in no time. The remote start and push button feature are very convenient and allow accessibility from inside the trailer. Overall, I am more than pleased with the product and would recommend it to anyone trying to find a great generator for your trailer.

Bought and worked right out of the box after setup. The second time I tried to use this unit on a camping trip, the automatic choke was not working. I pulled the side panel off and manually adjusted and it started right up. Wish they made the other side panel to reconnect the auto choke easier.

Exactly what you'd expect, open the box put your fluids in and go on your way. Even though the manual doesn't state anything of a break in period, running through that now. Electric start is really nice to have for something like this, can keep it in the back of the truck and turn it on and off from the camper.

I haven't had prolonged use, but so far so good! I conditioned it with a couple of oil changes, and the unit seems great! I only rated 4 stars because I have not had a chance to use it for a prolonged period. I ran it next to my Honda 2000i and it seemed slightly more quiet than the Honda! Overall, so far, happy with the purchase.
