Great Generator! Arrived fast!

I purchased the WGen3600DFcv generator last week and it arrived two days ahead of the originally scheduled arrival date. Filled the oil, added gas and it started easily on the second pull. Next, I tested the propane and it started on the second pull as well. Thus far, I have run it for about 1 hour to help seat the rings and break it in. When time allows, I will run it more to continue the break-in process before using it camping. Based on the 1 hour of run time, I'm happy with the purchase. I ordered it without the wheel kit only to realize it is heavier than I anticipated. Therefore, I ordered the wheel kit which I highly recommend. The generator seems to be of good quality for the price.

Emergency Back-Up Power

Functions As Designed

I bought this generator, in part, for all the glowing reviews people posted. I'm happy to add to this chorus of positive feedback because in an era of very disappointing products, this is a really nice piece of equipment that functions as advertised. Less than an hour to set up and (at least on propane mode) started after a few pulls. IDK about gasoline option... I've only used the propane mode and it was able to back-feed a panel in an emergency.

Dual fuel option is awesome!

I have a small collection of propane tanks laying around. Because this generator can use propane, I have filled up the tanks in case of emergency. They can be stored indefinitely and the propane won’t go bad like gasoline will. I love having options!

Getting upset

During initial break-in, unit would surge constantly and only run smooth with the chock being adjusted to about half open. after about two the hours of operation with no change i thought i better establish a service account and took the generator to an authorized service provider. Well, it is now 3 May (six weeks from dropping it off ) and the service provider continues to work with Westinghouse to fix the problem.

Great Features

The Westinghouse 5300 dual fuel is what I wanted. It was priced very reasonably for all of the features that it has. The directions were very good. It was very easy to assemble. I put the oil in the engine and install the propane line that was supplied. Hooked the 20 lb propane bottle to the line. Turned to fuel selector to propane and flipped the on/off switch to on. Opened the propane tank valve. Put the choke on start and the generator started on the 2nd pull of the engine pull start cord.

Great generator especially living in Florida

I bought this for the hurricane season to be ready just in case a storm knocks power out. The fact that it gives you multiple fuel options really helps in case you run out of one fuel. With the amount of wattage, you can power multiple high wattage items. As for noise, it's a generator. The only way to get a semi quiet one is to get the smaller lower wattage ones. I hope to never need it for a worst case scenario but it's good to be ready.

Fantastic purchase!

I actually purchased this generator based on the ability of the dual fuel option. I was amazed at the simplicity of assembly required prior to operation, and how well thought out the enclosed instructions were prepared. This equipment is simplistic in nature, and more than capable to meet my needs during a power outage. I’m sure I will enjoy this unit for years to come. Easy to assemble, (4 bolts, wrench provided, 2 spring clips, and a quart of oil (with funnel) and your’re good to go on either fuel, gas or propane. What’s not to like? 👍

Great Dual Fuel Generator/Great Price

I found this Generator very complete for the needs of my home when power is out, I like the dual fuel system (propane and fuel gas), has a nice handle to carry it around with no problem, I just open the box and it has everything you need to put it together and get you going, I did my research before this purchase and I'm very pleased with it 100%. Thanks

Good Dependable Power in a Small Package!

After having looked at many different generators in this size class, I finally opted for the Westinghouse WGen5300DFv. I bought it to replace my old generator for Hurricane Idalia, and I have to say that I was pleasantly impressed with this unit! It started right up in both modes, Gas and Propane; and it also switched over seamlessly from gas to propane. For the price to feature comparison, I couldn’t be happier.

Great Features!

I bought this generator as back-up power for my house, we live in California which is the land of rolling blackouts. The 44 amp @ 120v is more than enough for my house. I plan on using the 240v to recharge my plug-in hybrid which helped me sell this purchase to my wife, haha. The 240v was totally unexpected and along with the Dual Fuel ability . . . definitely a win win! This is my first generator and the time to set-up was surprisingly short and very easy, thank you Westinghouse!
