We have been experiencing more power outages here in NorCal due to fires and older power sources. Well we had enough so we we researching amd saw several reviews of this model and we were sold, found if the model was in our area and race out to get it. So happy with the purchase and the find. Thank you Westinghouse for making this so easy to use for a GiGi, my grandchildren I am our family were able to rest with fans and working lamps and fridge, and tablets while most of our block was dark. Bought this as a home power failure backup and also a boondocking generator for our camper. Option for propane is a big plus. Generator runs a 30 amp camper with no problems. Overall noise seems to be less than other generators I've seen. With the exhaust pointed away from the camper, I can't hear the generator over the A/C unit fan. One change I would make is to move the voltage switch away from the on/off switch. Too easy to hit the wrong switch when it's running.

This year proved to be one for the record books in Texas. As if Covid wasn't enough, Mother Nature decided to bless us with a Snowpocalypse. Below freezing temps for a week and more snow and ice than we see in a 20 year period. Since it doesn't happen often enough to be concerned, the Texas power grid wasn't prepared. As a result, we lost power to the house for over a week. That made for some really cold days and nights. Swearing I'd never endure that again, I bought this generator based on a large number of positive reviews, price, and the name brand. It's now hooked up via transfer switch to the house, and we're ready for what comes.

I LIVE IN LOUISIANA, WE RUN FROM A LOT OF STORMS. WE HAVE A RV AND NOW HAVING A GENERATOR THAT USES GAS AND PROPANE WILL BE A GOD SEND. WE GO THRU TOWNS WITH OUT OF GAS SIGNS FREQUENTLY DURING STORMS. SO HAVING A/C IN 98-100 DEGREE WEATHER IS A BLESSING. WE ARE ELDERLY AND CAN'T TAKE THE HEAT LIKE WE USE TO.

I bought this unit because I trusted the brand : Westinghouse. When I received it my trust was confirmed. This unit is extremely well designed and assembled. A plus is the included tool kit , oil and special spout for the oil fill. All you need is fuel to run this unit. It is a customer friendly unit.

Just purchased this generator 4 days prior to Hurricane Ian affecting our state. Despite not having severe hurricane effects in our area, we did have a power outage for 2 days. Happy to say that this unit was able to provide power to the most basic appliances needed during this time, making our days easy to tolerate. Satisfied with the investment, despite the unplanned financial cost.

I had been putting off buying a generator for over a year because I thought they would be hard to start up and difficult to figure out how to hook up equipment. The Westinghouse Gen5300DFV washed all those fears away within the first few minutes. The instructions were easy to follow and starting up with propane was a breeze. I love the option to run on propane or fuel and starting was super easy on both. This will be a great generator for any emergency use!

I’m beyond happy with this purchase. The assembly of the product was very simple and it was ready to go in just a few minutes. I took it outside,connected my propane tank, and one crank l later this thing was purring like a kitten. It is Much quieter and lighter than my old generator with about the same amount of power. I will never be without power in a storm again. Thanks for making such an awesome product.

We uncrated the generator and put oil in the crankcase and gas in the tank and it easily started and ran smoothly. My old generator jumped around a lot. Now we can undertake major projects at our cabin knowing that we have the electrical power to undertake any job.

Host registering my Wgen5300 now and it’s saying I get a bonus item for leaving a review. So far kind of disappointed I had so much trouble finding a cover, figure it would be offered with the purchase but oh well. Already spent hours finding a cover to match dimensions and paid for it to arrive same time. Now I can’t find any info on this cover offer. We shall see.. Generator seems nice and has plenty of good reviews, haven’t fired it up quite yet, waiting to be ready to give it the proper Maintnance. I did put wheels and feet on which was pretty easy. Thumbs up so far.
