Good value for the money.

I bought this generator in May 2021 for use as backup power for my house and for powering my travel trailer on camping trips where there are no hookups. Upon unboxing and adding gas, the unit fired right up on the first pull. The unit has 6500 peak watts and 5300 running watts. We took it on a camping trip and it was able to power our 15K btu AC unit, and we ran our microwave at the same time. It is a large fairly loud unit that creates a lot of power. It does not have an Eco mode so it puts out full power all the time and uses a lot of gas. What's a great feature is that it also runs on propane as it comes (although it puts out a little less power on propane). In my test on a propane tank it ran fine. In all I think that with the power it delivers, the 3 year warranty, and the fact that it runs on propane, the unit is a great value and that I made a good decision in my purchase.

Ok Generator

The packaging is not good so it'll come damaged, i ordered it twice, both were dented on the alternator cover and the exhaust cover. Decided to keep it anyways since it ran fine. much louder than I originally thought. Otherwise its good, started on the first pull. Very Good Price. And I like the dual fuel capability.

Great features great price

After doing research o. Multiple brands decided on this one as it was at a good price point and wattage. And added bonus dual fuel for a fraction of other dual fuel generators and most reviews spoke great of the model so the wife and i landed on this one. Only 4 bc we havnt had a chance to use it yet but now im ready for the next power outage.

love duel fuel

I bought the generator for confidence during winter weather. The looming threat of ice storms and power outages brings feelings of concern. We have survived 2 100 year ice storms. no heat, Now we can run the central heat. I did the test run and "break in" on propane. I love not having to rely on gasoline. Gas is now my back up fuel.

Westinghouse 5300 portable Generator

We have had a major snowstorm and ice storm within a week of each other. Lost power both times! We bought this right before the first storm hit and it has really come through helping us run the essentials. Highly recommend this if you need power! Amazing and grateful buy!!!!

Great Features

I just bought this generator and love that it is dual fuel so I don't have to keep gasoline around, which has a shelf life issue, while propane does not! The product was well packaged and instructions were clear and comprehensive. It started the first time with only a couple of pulls. I am still in the break-in period so I haven't used it at full load yet, but have no doubt it will do the job. I have a lot more piece of mind having this generator in my garage in case of power outages.

Easy and convenient

I just moved to the gulf coast so I needed to pick up a generator for hurricane season. I haven't had to use it for real yet, but assembly out of the box was easy, and the initial servicing and startup was simple to do and easy to follow the instructions. I don't forsee having any problems getting it running once I actually need it, seems like a great value for the price.

Transfer switch house hookup via NEMA L14-30 cord

Important info for first-time buyers of portable generators. We couldn't feed power into the house from the NEMA L14-30R outlet because I started it in 120v mode. But the outlet is only energized in the 240v position! 1. That outlet provides max 3600W for 120V and max 5300W for 240V at 30A. When setting the voltage to 120v, only the two other outlets are energized with 120v each: 2. The RV compatible outlet (TT-30R) provides max 3600 Watt at 30 Ampere 3. The two household outlets (5-20R) provide max 2400 Watt at 20 Ampere I strongly recommend Westinghouse to include this information clearly in the product's manual and operating instructions.

Has All I Need

I have only started it and it is in the break in phase now. I normally review after I've used it for some time, but they want this reviewed at registration. It has the features I want at the right price: dual fuel, G14 plug, TT30 plug, fairly efficient engine, and has wheels!

If you don't mind the noise, an outstanding device

We purchased this in response to the wind storm that knocked out power in the Midwest in the March of 2023. It is heavy, but fired up on literally the first pull and allowed us to run a refrigerator, several lamps, and a space heater while powered with gasoline. Having the option to use a propane tank, in a pinch, is a definite plus. We topped out at around 3,500 watts and ran it all night without a hitch. The only drawback is the noise, which is significant, but a small concession to the level of performance and reliability. Easy setup and clear instructions. Highly recommended.
