Died 2 times after 6 months.

Bought in June, 2023 Died 2 times in late December, 2023 and early Jan, 2024. Change the name to UNDURACELL. Taking car in Mon. to have it replaced. It is a small battery because it is a small car (fun car) MX5 convertible. It's not like it is turning a large V8 it has a 2.0 L. 4 cylinder. It gets a little cold in Panama City Fl. mid 30's not like it is sub-freezing weather it is Florida. What ever let's hope it is a one off and the replacement is better.

51R lasted SIX YEARS

I bought this battery in 01/2014 for my 1999 Honda CR-V and am preparing to replace it in 10/2019, almost SIX YEARS later. Not bad for a 3-year battery! As a side point, I was told by AAA back in 04/2017-when I was having some maintenance done on the car-that they tested this battery and it needed replacing. I then took the car to Sam's to test the battery, and they said it was still "very strong." Glad I didn't listen to AAA! In 05/2017, I moved from NC (where the car was garaged) to NY (where the car has been parked outside for the past 2.3 years) and the battery has continued strong. Only recently did my mechanic tell me it needs to be replaced; it does crank a little bit weaker than previously. With winter coming, the course of wisdom is to replace it. I just hope the next 51R I get is as good as this one! Another side point: I paid $68 for the 51R in 2014. Now at $104, I hope I get what I pay for.

Verified Purchase

It's a battery

What can I say after a couple of weeks. I put it in my car and no longer worry about listening to the radio with the engine off while I pump gas... We'll find out how good it really is in a couple of years or so. The one it replaced lasted almost 5 years.

thank goodness they’re warranted

Bought a Duracell 51R to replace the battery in my 2017 Honda CR-V. The original battery lasted nearly four years and only died after a severe period of cold weather. It limped along till I got tired of recharging it every couple months. Installation of the new battery was easy enough but within a few months, the battery started showing signs of failure. We are retired and it is not uncommon for us not to drive one of our vehicles for several days at a time. After about three months, I broke out my fully automatic battery charger and fully charged the new battery. I usually do that before installing any new battery, but for some reason I failed to do that for this one. After charging the battery to full capacity, o had to do it again several months later. I had the dealership inspect the charging system and got an A+ report that all was perfect. Yet the recharging cycle repeated itself almost like clockwork. In July 2022 I drove the CR-V on a short trip sixty miles away and back. I stopped for fuel at the corner station and that was it. It stranded me. A very nice guy also gassing up gave me a jump and I made it home. But that failure doomed that battery with me. I took it to Sam’s Club the next dat and they tested it and ultimately gave me a new battery. This time I fully charged it before installing it. My fingers are crossed.

Good Battery, Great Warranty

At the time of purchase, Sams Club had the lowest cost battery with a 3 year warranty. A little over 2 years later, I found out how GREAT the warranty is. I bought this battery in November 2019 and it came with a 3 year warranty. Two years later I started having issues where the car would not start if left for a few days, then it became just sitting over-night, the car would not start in the morning. It would lose enough charge to where it could power accessories, but not crank the engine. I took it back to Sams, the technician tested it, and found the battery to be bad and exchanged it on the spot for a new off-the-shelf battery! Before going to the local club, I called the customer service line to confirm the warranty. I was told as long as I still had my member ship in good standing, it was a FULL exchange. If I was no longer a member, it would be a prorated warranty. However, I still needed to go to a Sams club to have the battery tested. This turned out to be a great experience. The whole exchange took less then 15 minutes and there were no hassles.

Weak battery after 2 years

Bought a Duracell 51R for my CR-V in 07/23. By 12/25 it is weak, battery light stays on after cold starts. Never had this issue with any other battery in any other car. Sam's says it tests as a good battery... How bad does it need to get to be replaced? Is Sam's hoping that it will last 2 days past the 3 year warranty?

Not very pleased so far!

Lasted 8 months in my 2016 Miata and left me stranded. Glad there's a decent warranty on these. I don't like to leave a negative review, but I don't understand why it didn't last any longer than this!

Honda CRV - battery lasted 50 Months

I purchased this battery in February 2018 and it lasted 50 months until May 2022. A little over 4 years is a good run, but it would need to go 5 years to earn my five stars.

Lasted less than 3 years

Second battery purchased at Sam's Club that lasted 2.5 years. Just make sure you keep your receipt. As long as it's under the 3-year warranty you can get a new battery.
