I needed a small size iron and have used a full size Rowenta for years and loved it. Sometimes small size irons do not function like full size ones, but not this one. All of the power and features of a full size iron in a small package. I love this iron!!!

I purchased this about a month ago. I will post a longer term review later. I have used Rowenta irons for years. I wanted a smaller iron for ease of use and also wanted one that didn’t have auto shut off. I looked at all the alternatives and this model was my choice. Others were like toys and the quality was not comparable. Let’s address the biggest complaint about this iron. The handle breaks. This may happen if you treat it like a full size iron. It’s not a full size iron. You don’t need to press down hard to achieve good results. You need to hold the release when you both open and close the handle. If you don’t do this then it’s your fault. I can’t imagine this handle ever breaking. If you never used the iron of course the handle wouldn’t break. If you treat it roughly then you could damage it. It is a finely crafted iron and deserves the proper treatment. Let’s talk about steam. This iron steams as much as my 9280. That’s saying something. The tank is about 2 ounces so you need to fill it often. You get real good at it very quickly. There aren’t any negatives as far as I’m concerned. If an iron heats up quickly, steams great, has a stainless sole, a great tip for small areas and doesn’t have auto shut off then you’ve got a winner. Buy this iron as quickly as you can.

Really like the cord that swivels. The heating is quick and variable. I wish the temperature dial was easier to change and the off feature was marked better. I am very pleased with the product and would definitely recommend to friends. This is how I purchased this iron, besides knowing the Rowenta products are so reliable.

This is my second Compact Rowenta Steam Iron. I used the first one for many years! Replaced it, when it was lost in a move. My new one, my current one, is just as sturdy and efficient as the first one! Perfect for being the mainstay, fight next to me on my sewing table. Love the quick heat-up and almost instant steam ability! The best travek iron I have ever had.

Like so many of you, my handle broke when I pressed too hard. Otherwise, it did a good job, but, it cannot be used with a broken handle. My handyman husband is trying to repair it, but it doesn’t look good. In the meantime, I started using a new “pink” iron which is fabulous! I do not recommend this product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This iron was such poor quality. I could not get the wrinkles out of any pairs of pants on any of the settings. I have had more success with a compact steamer and now iron. It did not do its job efficiently.

I loved the look of the iron and I wanted to love it for its ability to perform but it leaked and that frustrated me. I thought it was me, maybe I did not close the reservoir properly but when I continued to iron after drying the garment I realized it was not me. I returned this iron and did not do an exchange but I wonder if I should have...I don't know.

I bought this iron, not for travel use, but in hopes that it could replace my everyday iron, which I have found to have become heavy and cumbersome. After one use of this iron, I have NO question that it has now become my new “everyday iron!!!” It does a much better job than my larger iron, and the size feels SO much easier for me to handle! I am SO happy I tried it!

I've not been impressed with this iron since I bought it. First, it requires that you use tap water. Bottled water actually leaked out the first time I tried using it. How does the thing know the difference between tap or bottled water anyway? The water here in Florida is gross and causes a build up real quick, so that was not a good idea. Secondly, I've had this iron for over a year. We don't use it very often, but it was doing alright. I've tried using it twice recently (this morning being one of those times) and it leaks like crazy! All over my new blouse and the build up of the nasty tap water comes out with it! I would not recommend this iron at all!

I like the iron for working next to my machine but I have a minor problem with the control dial. The placement is to close to the sole, is not raised enough, or possibly fixable by having it stick out a bit more. My fingers feel too close to the heat and I worry about a burn. There is a clear on-foo so I am sure that it is completely off and can leave it plugged in while I'm working on other parts of the project. The water tank holds water better than other portable irons that I have used and the steam is as good as my full sized iron.
