This bag was not "match light" ready (as it indicates) what a way to start the celebration festivities! Kingsford im very disappointed!! We are not close to a store so needless to say it took FOREVER to get started... I guess it's time to change brands!

I bought Kingsford Match Light. I would not buy this product again. No matter how many times I try to light it, I am unable to light. What a shame that it does not work. I have had three meals put off because of it. Guess I will have to purchase lighter fluid so that I am able to grill out.

We have used Match Light for years but it only takes one bad experience to leave a bad taste in your mouth. We bought two bags of the charcoal and used it the same day. It wouldn’t light. Seriously, we had to run to the store to get lighter fluid. I hope this is a fluke but not very happy at the moment.

This year, I took the plunge. My entire family has always cooked on gas grills, and I went with the flow. However, after purchasing an insanely expensive gas grill and only having it last two years. I was annoyed. I stayed away from charcoal because of the lighter fluid horror stories I've heard over the years. This year, I bought my first charcoal grill, and with a friend's recomendation I went with Kingsford's match light. Very simple to light, and great for new charcoal grillers like myself. It has definitely raised my confidence level. Now, I feel a lot more comfortable using charcoal. It lights extremely easily, and burns for a nice long time. I recomemend this to anyone new to grilling!

I used to use original Kingdford for about 40 years. The last 10 years it seems the composition of wood used in the original blend has changed. We used to use newspaper or paper plates to light up the standard charcoals from Kingsford. But they don't light quickly or at all. When they did light, they would light unbalanced and it would take longer to cook. I use the two zone cooking method. Using the Match Light version lights fast and evenly. I prefer the original but it doesn't work for us. So Match Light is what we been using the last 10 years mostly. Sometimes I may add oak wood to extend the cooking. I have not experienced any unpleasant taste after cooking using the Match Light. But I know there is lighter fluid in it. So we don't BBQ as often as we used too with the original blend of Kingsford.

We just bought 2 bags. We had used part of the one and was working fine. Now today just 1 day later it refuses to light. It wasn't left out in the open. We tried the other bag and it also won't light. We have used this for years. I guess it's like everything else Cheaper made to save money

We set up the charcoal in the grill. It lit beautifully but would not get hot. Even after 2 hours of burning it still was not hot. Had to dump the whole grill of charcoal and go to the store and get regular charcoal and lighting fluid and start all over again. Will not buy Kingsford again.

I use 4-6 bags of the original a week, I find the match light has a funky taste, and stinks the "bark" on the hood of my grill. I couldn't recommend the original or competition brand enough, but match light misses the mark with me.

I’m not sure why, but both times when we have cooked on our new grill with the match light charcoal our tastes like lighter fluid why would it be like that?? There is something we are doing wrong?
