I was already skeptical when I read the rave reviews about this products "new" technology. Previously I'd been using the Off mosquito lanterns with the candle and the repellant tab (which worked like a charm!) but after combing through the reviews I thought I'd give the Thermacell a shot. I've used it the last two nights on my small patio in the city (where the mosquitos aren't terrible to begin with compared to living outside town, but annoying). For the hype, I expected the odd mosquito to none at all (which is what I got with the Off lanterns). But I was constantly pestered by bugs, so these are definitely not as good as advertised! I am extremely disappointed with this product.

I received this and was excited to give it a try. I like the fact that this is rechargeable and that the refills are slated to last 12 hours. But i have found that the battery life on this was only about 5 hours and that was a shock as i thought it would last as long as the refill itself. It was easy to recharge as long as one has access to electricity. As to the fact that this refill works for 12 hours i am not sure that it did last that long but it was about 8 hours that it lasted. I dont think that this was fool proof but better than not having anyting and better than usingother chemicals.

I got my E55 unit a few weeks ago and brought it with me whenever I went fishing. It is lightweight and portable, and the battery lasts a good amount of time. In my experience, it repelled some mosquitoes, but a lot still kept attacking me even after 30 minutes with the unit being on by me. It also still uses micro usb and not usb c.

I will say i have been pleasantly surprised. If the directions are followed this baby actually works. It's important to note that; A. The device needs about 5 or 10 minutes to aerosolize the repellent and B. It needs somewhat still air or the repellent will blow away. If there is a slight breeze, place the unit so the wind blows across it towards you and your guests. I am so happy that I can finally sit on my porch without having to douse myself with Deet or light incense in a feeble attempt to discourage attacks. My only complaint would be the cost of the refills.

Purchased this as a way to rid our deck of the Mosquitoes that show up during the Summer.  When I received it, I allowed it to fully charge and it did work for one Battery cycle.  When I tried recharging it, it never completed a charge.  There is a red light that stays lit when trying to use it until it eventually just turns off after about 2 minutes warming up. 

I have used Thermacell products in the past with great success. Thought I would try this rechargeable one. Wast of money. It doesn’t work. Followed all directions, feel the unit getting warm, but still have mosquitoes bite me and I am not a foot away!

I got this product in the mail to try when I go fishing. It heats up very fast and works great. I was outside with it for about 2 hours and never got bit by a mosquito. I live in a woodsy area so we have a lot of mosquitoes but with this product it was like there was no mosquitoes.

Our back patio design incorporates a small pond that is white smoothing but attracts mosquitoes. The small Thermacell E55 unit keeps the critters at bay. I like it's rechargeable and more importantly the battery charge lasts for multiple days and uses. The 12 hour refill does last about 12 hours. Excellent product. It makes our patio area go from good to great. No more mosquitoes

i have tried so many different product and not many of them work. so i wasn't so about trying this one but it worked better than i thought. it doesn't work that well on a windy day but does the job. i live in florida and the mosquitos love my area and my husband, he said it worked better than some of the other products we have tried and would buy more .

I recently had an opportunity to put this product to a serious test, and I'm impressed. I'd charged my Thermacell in preparation for some upcoming yardwork. The weather had other plans however. We were hit in this area by some serious storms today including a few tornadoes that knocked out power for hours. Nearly 12 hours without power in muggy, warm weather kept us wanting to have the doors and windows open once the rain passes, but we were getting hit pretty hard with mosquitoes until I remembered I'd already charged the Thermacell and had a cartridge ready to go. I placed it outside our door on the porch, and it kept us pretty much big free for the remainder of our time without power. I'm so thankful we had this on hand. It's effective, easy to set up and use, and a great little gadget to have on hand. Cannot recommend enough!
