We happened to attempt sitting outside on the day the repeller arrived. The mosquitoes chased us back inside. About an hour later, the repeller arrived and we tried it out. We were comfortable for the next two hours weeding the garden not 20 feet away from where we were earlier.

Omg it actually works! How do more people not know about this? Everything else I have tried is total snake-oil... lamps that are supposed to repel them, liquid you hang in trees at the edge of a space, etc. etc.; all complete garbage. But this thing ACTUALLY WORKS AS DESCRIBED. I no longer have my own personal swarm hovering around me while I work in the garden. I'm in North Mississippi, where the mosquitoes are small but very, very plentiful.

This device is well worth the money if mosquitos like you and they like me. They don't seem to like my wife but it seems to help me a lot. Caution - I think that the flat black color absorbs heat from the sun which results in the repellent evaporating even when turned off if it is left in the sun. I went through the first cartridge in less than a month even though only using it in early am and late evening because I left it out in the sun during the day. I now move it into the shade when off.

Love NOT being bitten. I use this everywhere: out back, the winery, church. This is an amazing unit. I even have one to keep by the back door so when I go in, there are not bugs near the porch light. It's the best invention! Plus, no smell, no fire. I love it.

I used three of these under a 20' x 40' tent with open sides in a heavily mosquito-infested wooded area in Michigan in the evening of a very wet summer. People were getting destroyed the night before in this spot, but as soon as my Thermacells heated up, the bugs were just gone...all of them. With the perimeter up and running, any insect that wandered too close would literally fall out of the sky. They work incredibly well and I love not having to replace butane cartridges. It's also really convenient that the cartridges last 36 hours. If you have easy access to recharge them, these are the way to go.

My wife loves it; not so much myself. She claims it works wonders while I’m still getting eaten alive. Three of us on the patio last night; my wife and brother Jim never had a single bite, myself on the other hand was getting eaten alive. I guess I’m just a mosquito magnet; go figure.

I'm not sure what's in it, but it does work. I wish there was more information on whether this kills butterflies and bees too because we use it on our patio which has a pollinator garden surrounding it. We may be killing all the helpful bugs too. :( That being said, this device does work. We don't get any mosquito bites while using it.

Lots of good things here. Easy to charge and monitor as the choice of lights and patterns is good. What makes it mixed bag for me is that it is easy to rollover. And the liquid in the middle it can get oily. Works well on a table of other protected area so we will be keeping/enjoying it.

I purchased this one to travel with, was so excited to be able to! But I don't feel it works as well as my Butane fueled thermocells. Still bringing it with as there isn't anything else and it seems to offer some protection if you sit right next to it.

Clearly this won't be posted, but...the mosquitoes are still biting. I went with the Wirecutter recommendation and it seems like this product can't tout itself as a force field against 100% of biting insects; my legs and face tell a different tale. While I'll never know what the effect of not using the repeller in similar conditions (because I'm not brave/stupid enough to perform an unbiased, scientific experiment), my family and I retreated to the safety of indoors because of the bites. I can't recommend this product as better than not using it at this time.
