Purchased this barrel to replace our old one which sprung a leak. Holds a good amount of rainwater for our plants

First of all, the barrel looks sturdy and it's definitely more attractive than a regular barrel. Note that this barrel does not have a threaded spout for a side faucet, only the bottom has one. After looking at all the others with the side faucet, I didn't notice that the larger barrel didn't have one. That being said, it you're going to put a diverter kit on it, those come with a threaded insert for a faucet but it will detract from the look of the barrel. I'll manage but I wish this barrel was the same as the 50-gallon by the same manufacturer.

Good quality barrel. I have one purchased previously that has two spigots, one up higher. That made a better barrel, in my opinion, as you had two options for getting water.

Works great, room for plant on top. We Elevate ours for ease of use since the faucet is fairly low. This is our third purchase. We’ve had two for about 15 yrs. Still works great.

Would have been great except for the problem of not holding water.. Leak was from faulty weld for spicket.. With 30+ mile trip to store, not happy, Very Happy with refund.. Great people..

The rain barrel was a good purchase. I plant a lot of flowers and now I don't have to pay for water to keep them looking fresh, but of course it stopped raining as soon as I got it.

I had the same problem as another customer did with one of the drain holes in the top leaking to the inside. I noticed this after I already had it set up with a pond pump to water mu plants so I wasn't going to go to the hassle of returning it. I just put a screw in the tubing so it doesn't leak. The holes in the cover where the water drains in were way to small to let the water run in. Half of it would run off on the ground. I just took a piece of screen and made my own cover. Works much better. I got mine ar Sam's for $49 so it was a good real regardless of the two problems I had. I have seen this same barrel online for twice that.

I purchased three for our new home, several of my neighbors saw them and bought them too. Theirs have long since been removed. Here's what is happening to mine. I did not keep a heavy clay pot on top... it just dried out and cracked. It's too late to run the downspout under the pavers without an expense I do not wish to have. I want to purchase another, in fact I would prefer the same unit. My other two did not do this. Perhaps this one was defective?

I bought this about 8 years ago for about $49.00. I guess it was made of different material than now. It faces East during the Spring through late Fall. Then I drain the water into bottles I've saved (half gal--bucket sizes) and store the barrow in the shed through the winter. That may have saved its lifetime. I store the water in my garage and use the water through the winter for my indoor plants and to start my seedlings.

This rain barrel only has one spigot unlike the others I views that had 2. It is low and hard to get water from unless you get a hose extender or something similar. It is very nice to look at and I love the planter on top. But do NOT put the dirt and plant directly into the planter or it will get washed out. Put play in pot and then set in top of rain barrel.
