I live in the Midwest and we get frequent wind storms in the spring, so I was looking for a pergola that can stand a high wind and snow load. Since putting this up almost every day we’ve had 20mph wind with gusts around 40mph. I’ve seen no movement or rattling during these windy days. It’s pretty heavy, coming in four boxes all around 125lbs for the 12x10, but not unmanageable. I was able to construct this in a few hours with one other guy. The gutters work but won’t deflect all water, some will spill over them, but if you’re directly under the pergola with the louvers closed you won’t get wet. Overall very happy with this product.

Arrived with no damage. Easy instructions. Need two people due to weight, but completed set up in 12 hours. Exactly want we wanted. Nice height. We sit out on deck a lot as we live on waterfront property. Nice shade, can open if needed.

Nice product , took the wife and I about 8 hours to put this together , the temperature was in the 90’s. The instructions are easy to follow and you won’t be disappointed. Just buy it !

20 x 10 Set up ready to use, love this product. All parts numbered and screws identified. Needed more people than two or three and took us two days to complete. Love the looks and value for my money.

We absolutely love our Sarasota pergola! The sleek black steel design looks amazing in our backyard and really elevates the whole space. The adjustable louvers are a game-changer — whether it’s full sun, partial shade, or closing them up during a rain shower, we can control it with ease. It feels extremely sturdy, and we’ve already hosted family cookouts and gatherings under it with plenty of space. Assembly took some time but was very straightforward with clear instructions. If you want a modern, durable pergola that doubles as both shade and shelter, this one is worth every penny.

I bought 2 of the 10x12 louvered pergolas for our back yard and finished assembly yesterday. 1. Everything was there and nothing was damaged. They included assembly tools! 2. The quality of the components was very good. The powder coating was excellent! 3. The instructions are thorough, in good English and easy to follow. 4. The build is possible with one person, but so much easier with 2. 5. The pergolas are sturdy after assembly, and I have no worries about wind damage. 6. I wanted stronger cement anchors than the ones supplied, so I used 3/8" wedge anchors. This is a very well-engineered kit! I was really impressed with the stainless hardware, thoughtfully written assembly instructions and overall quality of materials.

Beautiful. My friends put this together with no problem. There were no screws included to secure the pergola but otherwise they put it with no problem. Virtual customer was great. They were very patient while I asked various questions to make sure this was a good fit for us prior to purchase

Some part have is not match or not aligned

We have had this pergola for about 9 months. The product is very sturdy and nice looking. We love it as long as it is not raining. But we bought it because they boast about full coverage from rain. We have very nice/expensive outdoor furniture with nice upholstery that gets soaked EVERY SINGLE TIME it rains. We cleaned out the tracks and gutters which was not that dirty and it still soaks the furniture. This is a a lot of money, HARD WORK, and more money for installation to have to put up with this issue. We are so disappointed and frustrated. I will be calling the support center. Let’s hope and pray the my will be helpful and give us a solution to this problem.

The pergola arrived quickly and looked beautiful once assembled. We have now owned it for one year. Unfortunately, it is constructed of thin, low‑quality metal, and within just a few weeks of installation, wind caused the structure to lean and resulted in two broken louvers. We consistently followed the manufacturer’s instructions and ensured the louvers were kept in the vertical position during windy conditions. My husband is a contractor with extensive experience building homes and took great care during assembly. Throughout the process, he expressed concerns about the lightweight metal and questioned whether it would withstand high winds—concerns that unfortunately proved to be valid. We have since noticed Backyard Discovery's website that they have added corner braces to newer versions of this pergola, which suggests the company may have recognized durability issues with the design we purchased. We live in Colorado, where sustained winds of 10–30 mph are common, with occasional gusts reaching up to 70 mph. Despite being advertised as capable of withstanding winds up to 100 mph, this pergola has clearly not met that standard in our experience. My husband ultimately had to tie it down to prevent further leaning. I plan to contact Sam’s Club to see if a return or resolution is possible. If neither Sam’s Club nor Backyard Discovery is willing to make this right, this will result in a loss of over $2,000 for a product that did not perform as advertised.
