Buying this was my husband's choice and I think it will give us great peace of mind. The electrician couldn't finish the activation until I linked our new unit to the internet. My first phone conversation with Generac's representative was helpful but we discovered the generator won't work with a mesh WiFi system. I either had to buy an insert that would work or "dumb down" my WiFi system. So, we added an older, separate WiFi for our new generator, which is working well. Ours is a new construction and others may encounter a similar issue.

My husband and I had the 22kw on our first home in Houston Texas after hurricane Ike. The 2nd one was installed on an acreage home in northern Iowa. In both scenarios I felt much more comforted knowing the Generac back-up was with us. We program ours to do checks once a month and it has never failed. Thank you, Generac!

After 435 hours of protection and 5 years of service while using a 22 kw NG model G0065512 generator after hurricane Ida in Louisiana the muffler ruptured at 1 o'clock in the morning. Generator continued running at a very high level of noise. At daylight, in a rain storm, with an umbrella, I removed panels and removed the muffler, it had ruptured at the inlet above the cooling fan for the generator sending metal fragments into the plastic fan blade. Fan was damaged but still usable. I made a repair to the muffler and re-installed. First time I actually needed generator to perform this is reason for poor quality rating.

Mr James at Hughes Electric, Memphis Tennessee was by far the best service person that I have ever come in contact with. He was down to earth, patient and very knowledgeable. He explained everything and put me at ease with my generator. He showed up when he said he would. After the installation, and explanation, my power went out and everything he said would happen with the generator did and I’m so glad I made the purchase but appreciate all that Mr. James did to help me understand and assurance that it was a great buy. Best service experience and purchase ever.

Had this installed last week right before Hurricane Irma came thru Florida. Was the only house in neighborhood that had power thru out the entire storm. Had AC, hot water, stove and all lights and outlets working. Even had pool pump running. (All other pools in neighborhood turned black or green) Had neighbors plugging extension cords into our outlets to run Refrigerators and a neighbor running his wife oxygen machine from our house. Best investment we've ever made. All my neighbors now have my installers name and number and i'm sure they will be calling!!!!

The voltage regulator in my 20 KW Generac died after eight years it cost almost as much to replace it as a new generator so I replaced it with a new 18 KW Generac installer hooked it up today and the control board is froze up now I have to wait for a technician to come out I am not happy at all with Generac right now

We have had our 24kW Guardian unit for just over one year now. We reside in Houston, TX area and are thus exposed to hurricanes, tropical storms, and even winter freezes. Each of these weather events can disrupt power, for a few hours to a few days, or more. I have an 87 year old mother-in-law that lives in a home just over a mile from us. Thus, our decision for backup power was as much for her as for ourselves. Our unit runs our entire 3,100 sq.ft. home, including a 5-ton AC, and a pool. Shock Doc Electrical in League City was referred by Generac and they did an excellent job on the installation. Worth every penny for the peace of mind!

This is my second Generac! My previous unit was over 17years old and nearing its life expectancy. Fortunately I received a good deal that included a 10 year warranty. This one has so many wonderful features - and I can access its ‘Status’ from my IPhone. Hopefully, this is the last one I will ever need!

Just had the Generac 18KW GUARDIAN-NO T/SW AL whole house generator installed yesterday. Haven't had a chance to see it in motion, but it gives us great peace of mind knowing that should our power go out our home heating and sump pump will continue to work as needed. we plan to do some traveling so being away from home at times we won't have to worry about a flooded basement or food in the freezer going bad if the power were to go out. I also need to mention the added value to our home should we decide to sell this house. Having a generator adds extra value. Thanks Generac.

After several power outages, my wife and I decided to invest in a Generac whole home standby generator system. Our local installers did a great job in setting it up. Though we hope to never have to use this system (our weather patterns show we most likely will in the near future), just knowing that it is on automatic standby, brings great peace of mind to our family.
