It literally stinks
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The washing machine in its function are great, but the smell, completely downgrades it. From the minute we opened the original packaging, it smelled musty and mildewy and even very plasticky. I have chatted three different times now with support, and every time I end up getting cut off before the conversation is finished? Every time we start off and they tell me that either the drain pipe is being put in incorrectly or something with the plumbing system. Every time I have to convince them first that it smelled right out of the package before it was even connected to the plumbing system. No one has ever followed up from these chats even though full names and email addresses were exchanged at the beginning.

Bigger and Better
I’ve had this washer for almost a month now and love it! It replaced my old LG that the bearings went bad on after 12yrs so I felt comfortable getting another LG because they are built to last. The new features and app capabilities are a nice touch! But the larger drum size is my favorite part! Every comforter in the house fits with ease!! And it is SOOO quiet! I love it!
Hi Simsy, we appreciate you sharing your experience. We understand how great it feels when an upgrade delivers exactly what you hoped for, and it’s great to hear your 4.5 cu ft Ultra Large Capacity Front Load Washer model WM4000HWA is already making a big difference. The larger drum, quiet operation, new features, and ThinQ app support are all key strengths of this washer, and it’s great to know it handles your comforters with ease. So far so good
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve had this washer for a couple of weeks so far and so far so good. It washes well and I like that I’m alerted on my phone when a cycle is completed. I’m still learning about some of the other features. It runs a little louder than our previous washer which is really the only reason I dropped the rating by a star. I’m excited to use it more.
LG WM4000HWA
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased the WM4000HWA washer to replace a Maytag that had failed. I didn't expect this to be such an upgrade but it was. Although, I only have been using it for a short 2 weeks, it has been amazing. The turbo mode is a must have, the cycle is literally minutes, it leave the clothes clean and dry. This is my first LG but won't be my last. If you are on the fence, don't hesitate, this machine is spectacular.
Hi, Don. Thanks for taking the time to share your experience. It’s great to hear that your LG Washer (WM4000HWA) model has been such a standout upgrade. The TurboWash feature is truly a game‑changer — fast cycles, powerful cleaning, and excellent moisture removal all in one. It’s wonderful to know your first LG washer is making such a strong impression, and we’re really happy that it’s providing the performance you were looking for. Love the washer many options
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this before Christmas and I have had problems from the first wash. I had a service techician come yesterday and he explained I have a bad drain pump. He order one right away and will put it in next week. We are hoping that is the problem that I am experiencing as the water is not drain out of the washer totally.

Excited about performance
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased this machine, one month ago and so far we're really pleased. Has met our expectations for quality and cleaning performance. Simple to operate and quiet, making this a great purchase. This is our first front loader and were skeptical, but other family members own LG and are very satisfied. Great buy!
Love the sleek look
Pretty quiet compared to my last one. Very nice looking. Pretty straight forward set up. I’ve only had this a couple of months so far so good! Hope it sticks around for quite some time! I held back on a 5 star because I couldn’t get the hose to fit the way I wanted to due to how it’s held in place on washer and me NOT being a handy-man, don’t have a tool to release the bottom
Installation service to be improved
the product is good but the installation service need to be improved. The dryer and washer were installed in opposite positions, very inconvenient! called the delivery/ installation team several times, was told they will schedule a service but never show up. frustrated for months.
Literally Stinks
Literally stinks - world great, great features. But had a musty, rubbery smell from when the factory wrapping was removed. Twice spent 1/2 hours on Chat with LG and got cut off both times with the no follow up? Both times they said probably hooked up wrong with drain hose, etc. And finally convinced it smelled when unwrapped before even connecting to anything. Then they wanted me to hire a plumber to check out?? Both times communication stopped before a Next Step?
Hey there, thank you for sharing your experience with us. It's great to hear that you appreciate the features of your washer, but we understand the musty smell from the start is not ideal. It appears the odor might be linked to the materials or packaging rather than the installation process. We are here to help you troubleshoot this without unnecessary steps, such as hiring a plumber. There are several cleaning methods and adjustments available that could help eliminate the smell, and we're ready to guide you through them. A rubber or burning smell in an LG washing machine can originate from different sources, including new inlet hoses that can emit a strong rubber odor, a V-shaped pump belt in top load washers that should be inspected, buildup in the detergent and softener dispenser, or moisture accumulation due to inadequate ventilation. To address the musty smell, you can try running a wash cycle with a mixture of ¼ cup baking soda and ¼ cup water in the detergent container, along with four cups of white vinegar for top-load machines or two cups for front-load models, running a high-temperature cycle afterward. Pleasantly Surprised with Features
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Many new washers have been disappointing in performance with all the "Eco-Friendly" features. They work, but don't seem to actually do a decent job. This LG washer not only looks amazing, but its performance exceeded my expectations. It's pretty cool how the LG app synchronizes with the washer too.
