Tastes AWFUL!

I was shocked! We have Stevia in the Raw at work and it's great. Since this was on sale, I bought it, thinking it was better for me that Splenda. First day hubby and I put it in our coffee, and we had to poor it out. I couldn't drink it. And I've used artificial sweeteners for years, I can usually deal with a little aftertaste, but not this one.

We’re so sorry you had an unpleasant experience. While each packet of Truvia Natural Sweetener contains extract made from the best tasting part of the stevia plant, we understand that everyone’s taste buds are different. Thanks for giving us a try. We would love to hear more about what you didn’t like about the flavor – call us at 1-866-853-6077.

1/3 Less Great

No dextrin/maltodextrin like many of generics and other brands have. Erythritol has much less affect on blood sugar than most sweeteners, and it is NOT associated with abdominal distress for most people. This Sam’s Club price WAS better than generic/other Maltodextrin-free Stevia-Erythritol sweeteners. Now that it contains 1/3 less product, has 1/3 less sweetness, and yet cost the same, I must recalculate and compare it to others. I do not care to carry so many packs to use in my ice tea.

reply from Supplier Response

Hi Bluf. We can assure you that while the package weight has changed, the number of servings and sweetness per package has not. The sweetness of each packet still replaces 2 teaspoons of sugar. We value feedback from our fans like you, and would appreciate the opportunity to further discuss your concern. Please call us at 1-866-853-6077. Thank you so much and we look forward to hearing from you soon!

I expected a lot more...

How to start....OK so I just gave up diet soda. I never drank diet soda at full strength anyway so I kinda thought I wasn't so addicted. I was using it as more of an ingredient for my home-made jungle juice. I did some research on no-calorie sweeteners for Type II. *********************** The following information I found at: https://authoritynutrition.com/4-healthy-natural-sweeteners/ *********************** This plant has been grown for sweetness and medicinal purposes for centuries in South America. There are some studies in humans showing Stevia to have health benefits: When blood pressure is high, Stevia can lower it by 6-14%. However, it has no effect on blood pressure that is normal or only mildly elevated. Stevia has been shown to lower blood sugar levels in diabetics. There are also studies in rats showing that Stevia can improve insulin sensitivity, reduce oxidized LDL cholesterol and reduce plaque build up in the arteries. There are several sweet compounds found in Stevia leaves, the main ones are Stevioside and Rebaudioside A. Both are many hundred times sweeter than sugar, gram for gram. Stevia is very sweet, but has virtually no calories. ********************** So, awesome stuff right???? I called my friend who is a health-nut. He actually grows the plant in his garden. He said that he will pick a leaf off the plant right from his garden and keep it in his cheek. He said it still tasted sweet after 4 HOURS!!!!! It seems to me like this could be used as an appetite suppressant. So this processed/packaged stuff is no-where near the potency of the freshly picked real deal. Like most things that are processed/prepared, seems like all the goodness gets processed out of it. I made 2 quarts of tea and had to add 16 packets to get it sweet. I started off with 8 packets since it's supposed to be several hundred times sweeter than sugar. I could barely taste anything but bitter tea. The thought also occured to me that all the health benefits might have been processed out as well since it didn't really measure up to what I had read and my friends personal experience in plant form. I'm going to be experimenting with it since I bought 400 packets. I might just need to start a little indoor garden. Peace, Dave
