It is unlocked when those cutouts are matched up, and the yellow shape is completed. It is locked when the cutouts are not matched up and the yellow shape is incomplete. To unlock the nozzle, grasp the tip of the nozzle and turn to match up the cutouts. Once unlocked and ready to spray, ensure to pull the trigger firmly and all the way for a full spray. If you notice that your bottle is caving in, try fully squeezing the trigger a few times into the sink, making sure the trigger is fully depressed. This should allow your bottle to return to its normal state! If that doesn't work, however, remove the sprayer from the bottle and reconnecting, making sure that the dip tube (the little tube inside) is facing the same direction as the sprayer and in the corner of the bottle when you reconnect the sprayer. In order to prevent the bottle from caving in in the future, make sure you're fully squeezing the trigger each time you use your PowerWash.
