We're very sorry you had that experience. When this happens after changing to a refill, you may need to prime the pump to remove any air trapped in it. Pull the trigger 3 to 5 times to get it to spray or "force prime" it by squeezing the trigger and squeezing the body of the bottle. it could also be that the dip tube is facing in the wrong direction.
