I just got a Great Dane puppy and this gate works great. I love its one hand operation. Very easy to open and it closes and locks securely. If you have a very tiny dog they may be able to get through the slats. In fact I'm planning on buying a 2nd one.

We are expecting a baby girl in March, and we want to keep our two cats out of the nursery. They easily hop shorter gates, so we nearly gave up and installed a screen door. This tall gate seems to be doing the trick so far- much to my relief. Our smallest cat is 8lbs, so if you have tinier felines they may be able to slink through the bars. Determined jumpers could definitely get over as well- the gate is tall enough to discourage our cats from trying. Another thing to note is that if you are using this gate for children or medium to large dogs you must use the wall mounts to keep this gate in place. The pressure mounts permit the gate to slide to much if force is applied (our german shepherd would have no problem plowing through it if she had a mind to). This gate definitely serves our current needs, and we couldn't be more pleased with it. Once baby is crawling and walking, we will definitely use it with the wall mounts.

Bought this to keep toddler on one side and cat on the other side. My cat is small enough to squeeze thru the openings, but we solved for that by ziptying some cardboard to it. Otherwise works fantastic. Very easy to install. We used a powerdrill to attach it to the walls in a hallway.

This seems to be a good product, solid, no sharp edges. Used 'as is' in a 32" doorframe, the four pressure pads were not secure as they should be - the four pressure pad adjusment bolts were extended too far to be stable I added 1-7/8" of wood to each side of the door frame and inset the pads ~3/8' deep with a 1-3/8" Forstner bit. This modification exposes much less of the four adjustment bolts and the unit is much more stable. Our Grandson loves it - it helps him to stand and may be an aid to him walking sooner. This product offers extensions to fix wider opening - a six inch one was in the box with ours. I would suggest making the gate/frame about 3" wider, or put a 3-3-1/2" extension in the box since I believe most doorways are 32". Enjoyed adapting this gate to our door (It gave me an excuse to purchase a set of Forstner bits).

We bought this gate based off of the reviews and the price point. It was fairly easy to install at the top of our stairs. The quality is not as great as I thought, but we took a chance by one of the less expensive ones with less than stellar reviews. While we are satisfied with it overall, I can't help but wish we'd paid more for one that feels sturdier & safer.

This is a sturdy, well built gate. The "door"opens and closes very easily. My only complaint is that the baby will be able to pull it down if it is simply pressure mounted to the doorframe. Because of the way it has to be built to allow the door part to open and close, it does not pressure mount tightly enough to keep a toddler from pulling it down. We will simply keep an eye on this. We purchased the gate for two reasons. One was to keep the cat out of a particular room without always having the door closed. The other was because we have a grandbaby that we will want to keep out of certain areas (like the top of the stairs) in the future. Grandchild will rarely be out of our sight, the gate is just an extra precaution, so we are not terribly worried about having it pulled down. If we do worry, we will install the included cups that will keep the gate secure, but at the moment, we do not want holes in our doorframe.

I have 2 cats. The smaller of the two slid right through the bars like butter. This gate is a baby gate but was advertised for pets as well. I had to tighten it more against the wall. Now it's fine. It's not much of a complaint. And you get an extender as well which is a plus. I do like the gate even after the small mishap.

I have two german shepherds I usually keep outside but I bring inside every now and then if the weather is bad. Our female is quite an escape artist so I needed something that could keep her in. This item was definitely tall enough but it is a little flimsy because my hallway entrance is a little wide. Even with the extensions I can feel its to the last twist almost. The baseboard in my house gets in the way to be able to screw on the bottom pieces correctly so I have them placed at an angle to that plays part in why it doesnt feel as sturdy. So not a big deal since Ill be changing out my baseboards soon and it will be a flatter surface for them to go in. Regardless though the gate is able to keep in both of my shepherds and especially my 65 lb female german Shepherd who continuously jumps on it.

We ordered 2 of these gates. One had obviously been returned and had minor damage and missing parts. The other had a shattered plastic piece. We were able to make a few adjustments ourselves to accommodate these parts and were still able to install the gates. Overall, they are well built and work well, but it would have been nice to receive brand new items without accepting damaged and/or missing parts. Site to store pickup can be convenient as long as the items they ship to your local store are brand new and not returns from other stores. Would have given better ratings if not for the inconvenience and hassle of having to make our own adjustments in order to get them to work.
