It's rich and chocolatey as ever, especially compared to a lot of other brands that can taste chalky or overly sweet. I already consume OWYN on my own, so reviewing this was an easy choice for me. As someone who's lactose intolerant, this digests super easily and never upsets my stomach, which is a huge win. It also mixes perfectly, and I use it all the time in my morning espresso drinks for an easy protein boost. It always hits the spot. This will definitely continue to be my go-to.

I recently added OWYN Pro Elite Chocolate to my post-run routine because it is hard to find a clean plant-based drink that still packs 32g of protein. The allergen-friendly ingredients are a huge win. I can drink this immediately after a long effort without any of the bloating or heaviness I get from whey. It is very effective at keeping me full until my next actual meal. Why I gave it 4 Stars: The only reason I am not giving it a full five stars is the flavor profile. Personally, I found it to be a bit too sweet for my liking. Because it uses monk fruit and stevia, the sweetness is quite concentrated. If you prefer a more bitter, raw cocoa taste, this might feel a little too sweet. The consistency is quite thick and creamy. I highly recommend keeping these in the back of the fridge so they are ice cold when you get back from a run. It makes the sweetness much more refreshing!

Dairy free which is great because I'm lactose intolerant, zero sugar due to prediabetes, chocolate because come on, who doesn't love? However, it did not have a pleasant taste. The flavor of chocolate was there but there was a very strong after taste from the stevia sweetner used to sweeten the shake. It was extremely thick and difficult to swallow. It left a very thick film on my tongue kind of sticky leaving an unpleasant feeling in my mouth. I wouldn't try this brand of dairy free protein shake. It comes in a small TetraPak packaging and is the perfect size for a packed lunch or breakfast. It's not the most delicious drink, but does taste like a decent chocolate milk. There is no strange aftertaste. I drank the drink after breakfast and didn't notice it giving me more energy, but I do have to say I also did not get tired around lunch. All in all, it's an ok protein drink and while I wouldn't add it to my daily routine, I wouldn't mind buying it occasionally.
