I do not like the flavor or the weird sweet after taste that lingers for too longer right after drinking it. I tried it over ice and blended, it was ok. I even tried it with a shot of espresso and was, in my opinion, better even if just a little bit. It smells exactly how it tastes.

I've been trying a lot of convenience-type proteins shakes, and this is my least liked. Although I have absolutely no problem with milk alternatives, I would definitely not purchase this again. The flavor, color, and consistency was not to my liking. First, the flavor is a bit dull: it has a concept of chocolate but it's not there. Next, the color is not brown but more like a tannish-grey: it's a bit off-putting. Lastly, the consistency is very thick. I don't drink ice cream milk shakes but I imagine that this is close. I expected it to be more liquid. But, it's less expensive than the others right now. If that's your priority, then happy gulping.

While the calories were slightly higher than my personal target (I aim for around 30g of protein and 170 calories per shake per my dietitian’s recommendation), I appreciated that OWYN includes dietary fiber—something whey-based protein shakes usually don’t offer. That added fiber is a nice bonus and helps balance out the calorie difference. Overall, this is one of the best-tasting and smoothest plant-based protein shakes I’ve tried, and I would definitely recommend it, especially for anyone who struggles with the texture of other plant proteins.
