It’s winter in the Appalachians. The power to our whole area went out a few hours ago, as I was visiting a neighbor. We sat in the “dark” for an hour, and I decided to head home. As I pulled up, our lights were on, unlike all the others on our road, and the generator was humming, and wife was getting supper ready. That’s why I invested in this Guardian 22k last summer.

I am in the Emergency Management Field and live in a hurricane prone area on the east coast. The Generac will provide peace of mind when I am deployed knowing my family will always have electrical power without having to worry about a portable generator and extension cords. Our dealer was great and provided information and a professional install. I highly recommend the "GENPAD" for added security and great looks. This is an excellent product, and made in the USA.

Our 24kw Guardian Generator was installed yesterday. Ordered in October but due to hurricanes in our state, all generators are on backorder. Our Generac installer arrived at 8am and was done by Noon. Had a certified plumber installing our NG line on site as well. Everything went flawlessly. Generator tested, ran everything in our home and is now in standby and online via Mobile Link. Purchased a 10 year warranty for peace of mind. We have had 2 hurricanes and a recent winter ice storm impact our power in the past 12 months......and we live in town! Now, we are ready for this season!

We decided to have the unit installed for the peace of mind that with the weather getting worse we will not be without power. Looked at many units and the Generac 22K was the best we found for all the quality to construction and the ability to have our whole house powered if we have a power outage in our area. With more and more hurricanes and winter weather more extreme it give us the power that will keep our home running. The install by Charleston Electric went great. They set up all the timing for the unit to be installed, the gas to be hooked up and then the next day came out to get the unit set up and running. Look forward to many years of service keeping our family safe.

I live in an older subdivision built many years ago with above ground power running between large fenced yards. This means trees are never trimmed. A storm and we loose power. Wind? Power loss. A calm, cloudless sunny day? Those too thanks to squirrels not understanding transformers. It was late this spring after my third outage in two months, two over 24 hours, that I finally pulled the plug. Install of our 4022 wasn’t until September by Tek Electric, and as predicted the install kept the power stable for months. The first outage was the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, 20 minutes before we were supposed to get on the road for a 10 hour drive. Pre-generator, I’d have considered canceling the drive and at a minimum, pre-emptively emptied the fridge and freezer into the garbage since I had a neighbor putting garbage out on Friday. As it was, I just texted the neighbor and asked if he could shut the generator off for a bit to cool down if it was still running in 24 hours. I only needed the generator for just over 2 hours, which I was able to confirm down the road with MobileLink. A much more pleasant experience than either dumping my food or delaying the Thanksgiving drive.

The Generator enclosure looks great. Great balance between clean and subtle (does not draw attention from the house itself). We have not lost power yet to fully test this unit, but the self-test runs every Monday and is actually fairly quiet. Add in the 10 year warranty and the Professionalism of the Customer Service that I received while scheduling my free home site study has made this experience everything that I could have hoped for.

We were away last winter and had someone check our house every several days. We head a power outage and the electric company forgot to restore our power so we were lucky that the weather was above normat (not freezing). If this had happened a month later we would have had considerable damage. My only negative for Generac is that the propane monitoring system only works in the USA so it is an option we cannot use.

Received about a half-dozen estimates before deciding on a 22KW generator and Mohrmann Electric to handle the installation. Felt very comfortable speaking with Fred, the owner and his son Dennis, about our needs and some other electric supply issues we had. They gave us a very fair price for the generator and installation (some estimates were for THOUSANDS more); were very knowledgeable in understanding our needs; laid out in detail the installation plan and timetable; met the original installation plan and timetable; and did an excellent job delivering EXACTLY what they promised. We also had them upgrade our circuit and electric panel to 200 amps. We were also extremely surprised by how knowledgeable and detail oriented their administrative staff were. Their administrative staff understood the entire generator, electric and natural gas plumbing installation process and the local permit processes in Huntington NY. They called in advance to schedule all the work; always told us what the next steps were and when they would occur and handled all loan application and billing needs. Never dealt with such a knowledgeable and professional administrative staff. Special thanks to Laura and Meg who we dealt with most of the time and also Theresa. I had another brand prior to moving To my current address. I had many issues that required a tech. Everyone I spoke to including my neighbor at my prior home have no issues like I had. I am very happy with sound insulation and appearance with my Generac 22kw wholesome unit

After a long process of considering my actual needs Vs my wishes I selected the #7043 with service disconnect & transfer switch. My gas meter is on the opposite side of my home with the electric meter on the opposite end. I placed the gen on the gas meter side and had my transfer switch mounted in the basement (wall) under the outside electric meter. Install was smooth with the most work running the electric and control wires from the generator to the transfer switch. Gas hook up was straight forward with a "T" inserted into my AC-250 gas meter and a pipe run to the generator. When everything was hooked up gen was test run in manual mode. This thing is a LOT quieter than I had imagined. Engine runs smooth. After a 5 minute test run it was shut down and put in automatic mode. The service disconnect switch was turned off and after about 10 seconds the gen started then the transfer switch did it job and fired the transfer switch to gen power. After a few minutes was turned the city power back on and the gen switched back , ran for a cool off cycle and shut off. Perfect ! The only glitch in everything was configuring the WIFI and trying to use the Generac WIFI activation app. The WIFI app never did work from the installer or my attempts to make it work. I ended up using an IP address for WIFI config (192.168.51.1) This worked on the 1st try. I have a multi band WIFI router and my generator liked the 2.4 Ghz radio band. After I got it connected I launched the Generac app and my generator and stats appeared on my phone. Generac also pushed new firmware (1.14.172) to my generator within minutes of getting connected. My install date ( today ) is 4/15/2022 and Generac has made some HUGE improvement to their equipment over the years. Looking at my neighbors house across the street they have an old Generac in the off yellow square cabinet. His is still in use after a decade of use but its REALLY loud and lower KW output than my new 22 KW unit and mine you can barely hear from across the house. When his runs across the street I hope it throws a rod so he buys a new and quieter unit.
