The purchase, installation and certified startup went very well. The first year of service with five hours of run time required three warranty visits by the certified startup company. The first warranty call was due to the generator over cranking and loose bolts on the frame. The certified startup company addressed these issues quickly. The second warranty call was due to an oil leak. The certified startup company found loose hose connections around the engine and cooler. They replaced the factory clamps with adjustable clamps. Once again they did a great job. The third warranty call was due to another oil leak. This time the certified startup company found the front engine seal leaking. This was a major repair as they had to remove the entire end of the generator. Once again, they did a great job. At this point, I started asking questions about the warranty and extended warranties. I was given the warranty registration details from the certified startup company and was told to call Generac. I called the main number and was told to call the power group as they handled extended warranties. I called the power group and was told my generator was not registered to call the main number again. I called the main number again and they stated the generator was registered and to call the power group again. Well after many calls I realized I could not fix their departmental communication problem and gave up. I do believe Generac is a good company which is why I still recommended the product. However, I would highly recommend reviewing other manufacturers offers, as I unfortunately found afterwards that they have better warranties and very good reviews as well.

I was very surprised at the looks, features (of which I have to admit I don't use all of them) and quality of this product. The most surprising was how quiet it is. I am lucky I haven't had an emergency to use it in but the set-up test went very well. Everything was covered and the unit was very quiet. When the weekly test kicks in, I really don't hear it unless I am in one particular room in the house. Then it is a hum similar to a bathroom exhaust fan in the next room. The unit is only about 1 foot from the house! I would recommend this product to anyone!

My husband and I recently had the 22K Guardian home backup generator installed and we are extremely pleased with it and the dealer that installed it was very professional with us from the time we contacted him until the installation was complete. The peace of mind is worth every penny.

Installation was a 2-day affair as wiring and gas plumbing couldn't be completed on Day 1. Price reflected in literature has little bearing on total price, once add-ons are counted. Product appearance is acceptable to the neighborhood HOA rules, but the cover has a degree of concavity that tends to hold some rainwater. Otherwise looks and performance so far is excellent. Durability remains to be determined.

It works as advertised. But, it is much louder than I ever expected. I do not understand why Generac can not come up with a way to muffle the exhaust. In that it is only used in emergencies, I can put up with the noise. I am not sure how my neighbors will feel about it.

We purchased a Generac generator after looking at all the options available and found Generac had the best reputation and quality for the money. Well your generator has now been through two hurricanes. Hurricane Sally and Hurricane Delta. We want to thank you for providing us with a superior product and American Air Systems for a professional installation! Generac has made us feel more safe and secure while dealing with the aftermath of these hurricanes. Our home is a home even with prolonged power outages and we made a wise investment! Our 22KW ran for 7 days straight after hurricane Irma. It used a little oil and we had a big NG bill but my family had power. The power company did such a poor job in west Florida with their vegetation management. Many overgrown trees took down all the power lines. The generac kept things as close to normal and comfortable during and after the storm. Thanks!

Only had my 24kw for about 1 month, then after severe storms we lost power for 5 days straight. Having a newborn/toddler was one of the main reasons I chose to install one but honestly is a great choice for everyone! Our lives never skipped a beat, it ran our whole house seamlessly including all appliances, our 5 ton a/c unit and even our heated inground pool! Other than the destruction from mother nature you would never have known we were without power and could go on as if nothing happened. Thank you Generac!!!

My 22k standby was run for the first time today. My install contractor ran all the tests and walked me through everything I needed to know. I travel quite frequently and always had a concern about my family being alone in a power outage...which happens quite frequently in our area. I am completely satisfied with the purchase and with my contractor. Peace of mind is a great thing!

After living through Wilma and all the other hurricanes that have hit South Florida, I finally said enough is enough. I purchased the Generac 22K and had it professionally installed. We did the test run, and everything worked without fail. We turned on every appliance and could not tell I was on generator power. Solid product and I am sure this is going to reduce a lot of anxiety during the next storm. The way 2020 is going I am sure a hurricane will be coming our way. I had to call the Generac customer support line for assistance with the app and getting connection and the support staff are awesome. So, Generac hits a home run, great product and great people.
