Installation was excellent, operation so far has been spotty. In the snowstorm this week the unit failed to fire when the power went out and when later manually started went into safe mode tripping unit circuit breakers so no power went to our home. We had no power for 30 hours. The service tech is ordering parts so we will see how it goes. This was the third instance of failure to start, one in maintenance mode and one other in a power failure. I will update this review once we have operation consistency.

Just installed it yesterday, and waiting on the weekly run tomorrow. It is a great looking piece of equipment and appears to be of high quality. The start up technician was really very professional and went the extra mile to assure that it was installed correctly and safety conscience. He went the extra mile doing things that he was concerned about from the installation crew. I like in a neighborhood with multiple senior citizens age 60/93 and oour part of the neighborhood lost power multiple times last year from 8 hrs. to 14 hrs. So this is the reason I choose to install this unit. Also the Generac reputation is a standout for quality .

We lost power for four days during Irma and ran off a portable generator that was wired into my panel. It also ran off my propane tank so it was a pretty good deal--didn't need to get gas, etc. However, I lost an electrical device or two and was concerned about the bigger appliances (refrigerator, A/C) having problems in the future so decided to upgrade. Other than a ding in the lid (which we didn't recognize until the electrician unpacked the item, long after shipping--how would my wife be able to inspect this upon delivery, especially since the GenPad was on TOP of the generator on delivery?), the unit was pristine. Installation was done via a local electrician who has done much work on my home over the 20 years I have been here, and my gas company handled the gas hookup. I probably did not need 22KW, but it was only a few hundred dollars more than a 17KW or 20KW, so decided what the heck. Very happy to be protected this upcoming hurricane season!

I am so happy with my new unit. I almost can't wait for a power outage to have it kick on automatically and power up my house. I like the way it looks and operates. I could not be more pleased! I decided to purchase this unit after Hurricane Season due to losing power for 3 1/2 days and my portable generator just couldn't keep up.

Since installing the generator it has come in handy a couple of times. Paired with the automatic transfer switch we are covered when the power goes out. I do wish that there was a little more customization available to the running parameters. It would be nice to be able to set the transfer switch to run for a minimum time on the generator, say 5 to 10 minutes, if power is lost. There have been several times that we lost power in high winds and/or severe thunder storm where the power went out, generator kicked on and transfer switch swapped over and within seconds to a minute the power was restored briefly (just long enough for transfer switch to swap back to utility) and then repeat… Having a minimum set run time could minimize the possibility of the multiple swap overs and damaging electronics.

My new Generac 22KW was expertly installed by Holly Electric craftsmen Matthew, James, Jason and Cody. My new generator cycles just as explained and (almost silently) runs great. I have great peace of mind that my family will never again experience an unnecessary power outage, especially whenever I am away from home.

From the estimate to the conclusion of installation, this project was excellent. Mr. Buchanan gave us a very reasonable estimate for the size and quality of the generator installed. The men who installed the generator, set-up and wi-fi connection did a terrific job, were very pleasant, cleaned up nicely, helped me connect my phone to the Mobil Link app. We couldn't have asked for a better team. The quality, features and appearance sold me on my Generac backup generator. Combine that with a 1st class installation from my electrical contractor, “SKA Electric” from Stoney Point, NY 10980, I’m extremely happy. SKA ‘s excellent installation and knowledge of the Generac Generator, with its excellent features and quality, is the combination I was looking for. I’m very happy to share this review.

Overall great features. Love it. Only problem is unclear directions on menu setup. Needs to be easily planned out directions from Generac, more clear and concise. That’s the only problem I had. Would recommend and would buy again. Called in to customer service and Wendy was a great help.

This 10 kw, 7171, is a great replacement for my 10 year old portable unit. No more pulling cables from the shed 65 feet to the house, and gas cans. Actually looking forward to a power failure. Once everything was assembled installation was about 5 hours. Love it
