This unit is less than two years old and this is the SECOND time i have lost food. The freezer just stops working. It is like it gets stuck in defrost mode or something. Also if you open the door to get something out and the door closes behind you the door will not open again for a little while. the suction holding the door closed is so strong you can move the entire refrigerator out pulling on the door trying to get it open.

Hi, there. We're truly sorry to hear about the recurring issues you've been experiencing with your LG refrigerator, specifically the freezer not working and the door suction problem. We can understand how frustrating and inconvenient this must be for you, especially considering that the unit is less than two years old. Regarding the freezer malfunction, it sounds like there might be an issue with the defrost system or a possible component failure. As for the door suction problem, the door gaskets or the door closure mechanism might be causing the excessive suction, making it difficult to open the door. To resolve these issues, we recommend the following steps: - Defrost the Refrigerator: If the freezer is stuck in defrost mode, try unplugging the refrigerator for a few hours to allow it to defrost completely. Then, plug it back in and monitor if the issue persists. - Check Door Gaskets: Inspect the door gaskets (the rubber seals around the door) for any signs of wear, tears, or damage. Dirty or damaged gaskets can affect the door's ability to seal properly. - Check Door Closure Mechanism: Ensure that the door hinges and closure mechanism are functioning correctly. If there's an issue with the mechanism, it can cause excessive suction when closing the door. - Contact LG Customer Support: As the unit is still under warranty, we recommend reaching out to LG customer support at @LGUSSupport on Facebook or Twitter. Provide them with the model and serial number of your refrigerator and a detailed description of the problems you are facing. They will assist you with troubleshooting and arrange for a repair or replacement, if necessary, to resolve the issues. We understand the importance of having a reliable refrigerator, and we apologize for any inconvenience you've experienced. Your satisfaction is our top priority, and we want to ensure that these issues are resolved promptly. Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and we appreciate your understanding as we work to rectify the situation and restore your trust in our products. ^Danee

Plenty of space!

We have had this refrigerator for a month now and LOVE it. Tons of space including a large freezer - my favorite a small shelf in the fridge where I can put a casserole dish or meat/cheese tray - leaves more space in the refrigerator for everything else.

So far so good!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My old fridge was still working, but after 21 years, I figured it was time to replace. Also, it was a top-freezer, so with bad back problems, twisting and bending to get to refrigerated items was difficult. So this new fridge is perfect for that. However, I take one point off because you can't put a milk jug or anything of that height on one of the shelves, they aren't tall enough. I had throw out my Britta pitcher because it wouldn't fit, and buy the smaller slim design style and use coveted door space. You're stuck with whatever room there is on the door, and that space fills up quickly. But I can adjust. However, I love that I can see and reach everything so easily. The freezer holds more than I thought it would, and is more organized than my old top freezer. I have to say though that I am crossing my fingers. I've heard horror stories about the compressors, but am hoping that they are limited to the models included in the past class action lawsuit. And I've read of other problems in these reviews, I'm hoping this one is as good as my old Maytag which ran without a hiccup for 2 years.

Good for the size but plastic shelf cracks

We bought this fridge in 2020 but the pull out tray in the freezer keeps cracking and pieces fall off making it not push back easily so the freezer door doesn’t close all the way but enough for the alarm to not go off. Trying to figure out how to get a new pull out shelf for the freezer.

It broke less than the 2 year mark

I bought this July 2020. It suddenly stopped working $400 worth of groceries down the trash. I am living check to check to support my family and the least thing I ever thought to break down was the fridge. Aren’t fridges supposed to last you a long time ?

Icemaker makes cubes taste like chemical/plastic

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] For the first 2 weeks the ice tasted like chemicals & plastic. We decided it might be the filter so we put in a new filter with the same results. Now it makes no ice at all but instead shoots water out of a plastic port in the back instead of filling the tray. The only good news is that we longer have bad tasting ice. Bought this a month and a half ago.

Hey there Cory! We want to ensure you're enjoying the best-tasting ice and experience with your LG fridge. One quick tip would be to check your water line for any increases in pressure or disruptions. Disappointed

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The compressor went out after three years. Thankfully we have a 15 year old refrigerator in the garage that's never had a problem. LG is sending a company out to fix it, but we've been without our LG for over a week now. Plus the freezer drawer is made cheaply and the plastic rail broke off. They sure don't make appliances like they used to. Our old fridge in the garage has been abused so badly (hit by cars, etc.) and it's still plugging away. Stop trying to make things fancy! Just make them work!

Love that Everything can be seen!

Purchased 30 days ago. As one would expect from a new appliance it is quite and efficient. Several reviews have stated that this model will stop working without notice - will post if that is indeed the case. I have had excellent luck with LG appliances so I have some confidence that this will not occur. Some of the features that I really like is the positioning of the drawer space - one can see everything in the cheese/processed meat space; the door space is well organized; as are the bins. Can adequately hold juices, condiments, butter etc.

What's Up with the door?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] While this is a beautiful refrigerator with a lot of space and bright lights, the refrigerator and freezer door are impossible to open at times. I get the whole vacuum excuse but this is a job for Hercules. I have been exposed to refrigerators my entire life and have never experienced anything like this. We are house flippers who reside in the homes as they hare being renovated so I have personally purchased 10 refrigerators. This however is my first LG. This is definitely a deal breaker. There is no way an elderly person would be able to open this unit. Hercules would have an issue. One most use their foot to push against the freezer door while using their right hand to hold the frame of the unit and use your left hand to yank the door open.
