We love this trash can so much! We live in a 1br and our kitchen has a small eating area that was feeling overwhelmed by our trash/recycling setup. This can has streamlined everything and transformed the space. It is SO tidy and a pleasure to use. And it's so pretty! We tend to it like it's a sports car haha. The design is intuitive and convenient. It's expensive, but if you have the money, it's worth it.

This is our second simplehuman garbage can. I needed to downsize so we gave our large can to our daughter with her larger family. We love the new dual compartment one but don't understand why the larger blue recycling container takes the white H bags instead of the blue ones. It makes more sense to me to have the blue bags in the blue container and the white ones in the regular garbage container. Was a nurse for 45 years and think that it would have been more logical. Any reason for this? Otherwise I love the can and have more space. My daughter is enjoying our old, but like brand new can .

My other dual compartment simple human step can has a slot in the back for trash bags, this one does not and requires them to be stored separately which is not ideal. Also the lid is flimsier but the surface does a bette job of not showing fingerprints.

I have my garbage/recycling can now for about 1 month and I really love it. It is the best garbage can I ever owned. First when I saw it I was a bit shocked about the high price but it is worth to spend that much. The only thing I am a bit disapointed is the high price of the bags. The can operates very smoothly and the lid closes very quietly. There is more than enough space in the garbage and recycling size for a 2 people household. I am glad I bought this item.

I feel just silly, but I am in love with my trash can. I actually look forward to throwing away my trash and recyclables. Do you think there is a 12-step program for me? Seriously, staying tidy has never been so much fun. This can is exactly what I was looking for, and the price was reasonable compared to other brands I had looked at. At first, I was afraid the garbage compartment would be too small, but it is not, and trust me, I have a lot of garbage. You all calculated exactly what percentage of throw-away is garbage and what percent is recyclable. Very, very happy with this purchase.

I love my Simple Human! My mother-in-law has one the trashcans, so I knew that when it was time for me to get one, that I would also be getting Simple Human! I especially like how this trashcan has more space for recyclables. Recyclables are always bulky (wine bottles, boxes, fruit containers, etc), so this ratio of space for recyclables vs trash is perfect. In one week, my partner and I produce just enough trash and recyclables that both are exactly full at the end of the week. We compost so our trash never gets super smelly, but our friends who also have the same trashcan said that they love how the trash compartment is smaller so it forces them to take out the trash more frequently before it starts smelling.

Ok I am weird- I snapped a picture of my trash can and sent it to the kitchen designer that just finished up our project. Fits in so well with my European style kitchen. One big surprise- holds SO much more than I thought it would.You will not go wrong with this choice and go ahead and get the liners. Keeps everything tidy looking!

My husband and I had a larger trash can by Simplehuman trash can, but were only filling it about one third to one half way. I had been eyeing this dual can for some time as in Seattle there is way more recyclables than trash. LOVE that it incorporates both. Only complaint is that for such a big piece, it is not weighed down. It moves a bit each time we use it. I may have to put a brick or so ething in the bottom of it.

It’s weird to actually LIKE a trash can, right? It’s no more than a receptacle for garbage. This thing is both beautiful and extremely well built. The lid opens smoothly, and it shuts whisper soft. Fingerprints? There are none. I don’t know what kind of witchcraft this thing is made with, but there are never any fingerprints on this beaut. When I bought it, I had zero intention of actually buying any more of the custom simplehuman trash bags. But, they’re just so perfect, and I’ve been able to get a few uses out of each one. I can’t believe I’m fawning over a trash can, but it’s really perfect.

Unfortunately the garbage section of this can is too small. In simple terms the "mouth" of the area for regular garbage is too small and makes it difficult to "throw away" trash easily. The garbage area is long (HT) and narrow so a good deal of space is wasted when you throw away larger items. The larger items block smaller items to go past them. You end up with what I will call a lot of "air pockets" In general I LOVE simplehuman garbage cans. This particular one is not practical or functional.
