We are using it for recycling and the different sized bins are handy, using the bigger one for aluminum and plastic and the smaller one for glass containers which we don’t use nearly as much

This helps me keep the recyclables where they belong and not in a separate bag or container in the kitchen. It replaced the same one from Simple Human that I had for almost 10 years except the trash side was larger. Durable and modern.

If you have more recycling than trash, this is the perfect can

I love my Simple Human! My mother-in-law has one the trashcans, so I knew that when it was time for me to get one, that I would also be getting Simple Human! I especially like how this trashcan has more space for recyclables. Recyclables are always bulky (wine bottles, boxes, fruit containers, etc), so this ratio of space for recyclables vs trash is perfect. In one week, my partner and I produce just enough trash and recyclables that both are exactly full at the end of the week. We compost so our trash never gets super smelly, but our friends who also have the same trashcan said that they love how the trash compartment is smaller so it forces them to take out the trash more frequently before it starts smelling.

I have my garbage/recycling can now for about 1 month and I really love it. It is the best garbage can I ever owned. First when I saw it I was a bit shocked about the high price but it is worth to spend that much. The only thing I am a bit disapointed is the high price of the bags. The can operates very smoothly and the lid closes very quietly. There is more than enough space in the garbage and recycling size for a 2 people household. I am glad I bought this item.

Well made. However I switched my recycle and trash sides. The trash side was awfully small. Maybe it’s to encourage you to have less trash? But I love how sleek it feels in my small kitchen.

Overall, it is a nice trash can. Cleans easy, doesn’t get finger smudges. The major draw back is the need to use special brand trash bags. If you try to use regular trash bags, even ones with the correct volume, the lid won’t close all the way. The design requires you to tuck the top of the trash bag over the side of the lid, but doesn’t give an easy way to secure it, so the bag can bunch up abs once again the lid can’t close. I would find another option.

Trash can dented in two places

If it offered a zero I would give it a zero . I read reviews before purchase and can't believe how off they were. Small cans, specialized bags...no way. Not easy to use and very cumbersome. Did away with the inserts to utilize the whole can and had to cut a plastic middle divider. Interior can not lined so if there is a bag leak it will be messy.

Horrible design to have special sized containers needing custom sized bags. Wish I had paid better attention before I bought it. Trash can size much too small.
