I just got a Great Dane puppy and this gate works great. I love its one hand operation. Very easy to open and it closes and locks securely. If you have a very tiny dog they may be able to get through the slats. In fact I'm planning on buying a 2nd one.

Not only did it arrive looking somewhat dirty, like it had been stored outside, but it just straight doesn't work for a doorway. It's too tall. It interferes with the doorknob. You might be able to use it in a doorless area like a hallway, but thats not it's only problem. If you use the pressure mount method, it doesn't function properly. If you tighten it enough so it can't be dislodged, the latch area looses its clearance and you can't open it without fidgeting with it. If you loosen it enough for the latch to work how it is supposed to then it is too loose in the doorframe and can be knocked out of place with just a bit of effort (like a kiddo trying to escape!). Needless to say, I returned it!

Purchased this to keep my dogs within the tiled portion of my home. It's high enough that my Pharaoh and lab won't try to jump over and the bars are close enough together that my miniature Pincher can't get through. Well made and easy to set up. The cupped ends can be mounted onto the door/wall frame and secured by one small screw in cases where the screw tension alone will not hold it upright ( As in the case with a 150lb dog leaning against it.)

We ordered 2 of these gates. One had obviously been returned and had minor damage and missing parts. The other had a shattered plastic piece. We were able to make a few adjustments ourselves to accommodate these parts and were still able to install the gates. Overall, they are well built and work well, but it would have been nice to receive brand new items without accepting damaged and/or missing parts. Site to store pickup can be convenient as long as the items they ship to your local store are brand new and not returns from other stores. Would have given better ratings if not for the inconvenience and hassle of having to make our own adjustments in order to get them to work.

This is our 4th gate that we have purchased, not due to it not holding up but because it works that great and we bought more for other rooms. Would definitely recommend. Easy to install, holds up for the long haul and super easy to operate. Great value for a great product.

Worked fine for about 7 months before one of the (too small) welds broke on the main walk through portion of the gate. Now I'm stuck with a broken gate that I have to figure out how to repair or replace it since their warranty is only for 90 days. The height is nice on this, but if you're expecting it to last, it probably won't. I personally wouldn't buy from this brand again or recommend that anyone purchase it if you're looking for a long lasting product. It's made obvious they don't expect it to last by the 3 month warranty offered. Broken after 7 months of ownership? I'd call that cheaply made.

I am extremely pleased with this gate however the reviews about the door not opening when the gate is tightened between the door jam are true. I read all those reviews before buying it and I figured most of those people must not be handy so bought it anyway however they are correct. Since we plan to leave the gate up for sometime we decided to put 2 screws into the wall in order to hold the gate firmly in place and still be able to open & close the door, we only did the top screws and not the bottom. Afterall, 2 small screw holes are easily repaired when we are able to take the gate down. We got a new Boxer dog who we don't quite trust to have run of the house yet so she remains in the laundry/bathroom during the day and this gate allows her to have daylight from other windows in the house and also see into the kitchen. But instead of taking it up & down everyday we just leave it up and have not had any trouble walking through it. Basically as long as you are willing to put 2 small screw holes into your door jam I think this is the perfect product and I would buy it again.

The gate is a beautiful color, it went together pretty easily and the latch for the gate is impressive- my dog couldn't get it open at all. I guess the impressive latch on it was its downfall as the weld broke on the top of the gate and now it's a hazard with sharp edges and no way to fix it. I couldn't give it a rotten grade because of the color and the latch but the easy way it broke is why I had to mark it down

Love that this gate is extra tall and it was easy to set up. It is really sturdy once tightened into the doorway. I’ve bumped into it several times and it hasn’t come loose. It comes with an extra piece for wider doorways but I didn’t need it for a standard door. My only concern is the latch. It seems to be spring loaded and feels like it could break over time. This latch is different than previous walk through gates I’ve had. There is a locking mechanism to keep smart babies from opening the latch and escaping. Sams price was great and they shipped fast!

I actually bought this for my cats to keep them from going to certain parts of my house. Well, my one cat was so small she could get through the bars and my bigger cat could get through the space between the wall/ door frame and the gate. So I bought a trifold poster board to slide through the gate to keep them from getting through. So it still serves its purpose. Bc it's so tall, neither tried to jump it, so far.
