I have been wanting a 'door' gate for so long. So I finally convinced my husband that we needed one. One that was sturdy, one that wouldn't fall over every time someone touched it, and one that we didn't have to step over. So I found this one. I am so glad I did. It was easy to install, and has held up VERY well. Very glad I found this one. DEFINITELY worth the money!!!

I am extremely pleased with this gate however the reviews about the door not opening when the gate is tightened between the door jam are true. I read all those reviews before buying it and I figured most of those people must not be handy so bought it anyway however they are correct. Since we plan to leave the gate up for sometime we decided to put 2 screws into the wall in order to hold the gate firmly in place and still be able to open & close the door, we only did the top screws and not the bottom. Afterall, 2 small screw holes are easily repaired when we are able to take the gate down. We got a new Boxer dog who we don't quite trust to have run of the house yet so she remains in the laundry/bathroom during the day and this gate allows her to have daylight from other windows in the house and also see into the kitchen. But instead of taking it up & down everyday we just leave it up and have not had any trouble walking through it. Basically as long as you are willing to put 2 small screw holes into your door jam I think this is the perfect product and I would buy it again.

Extremely tall did have to use the screws and screw it into the door. Using just the pressure knobs did not work it could easily be pushed down. But I love how secure the latch is and how tall it is. My little one can't figure out how to open and cannot climb it.

This gate is great at preventing my son from climbing over! My son has HF ASD, and is always getting into the fridge or touching the sink or stove. He figured out how to open our last 2 gates, so we tied them closed. But then he would just climb over the gate, by pulling a chair near it. We got the tall gate this time and its been such a blessing. Thank you Regalo gate company!

The durability seems great, however, I still dislike this gate. If I didn't have another gate to compare it to, I wld probably love it, however, unlike my other gate, this gate only swings one direction, which is very inconvenient for my stairs. Also, the latch is not a one handed job, maybe it will be once I get use to it, but probably not bc I have smaller hands. Finally, the walk through is extremely narrow.

I have 2 older Regalo gates that have spring locks and open either way. This gates updated design forces you to use 2 hands to open it and also only opens in one direction. Was pretty disappointed in the newer design. I use them for my dogs and they do the job. I can't imagine a mom or dad holding a baby or more than one item and having to open and walk through this gate. So inefficient when it comes to 'real life'. Bring back the old design Regalo!

We are expecting a baby girl in March, and we want to keep our two cats out of the nursery. They easily hop shorter gates, so we nearly gave up and installed a screen door. This tall gate seems to be doing the trick so far- much to my relief. Our smallest cat is 8lbs, so if you have tinier felines they may be able to slink through the bars. Determined jumpers could definitely get over as well- the gate is tall enough to discourage our cats from trying. Another thing to note is that if you are using this gate for children or medium to large dogs you must use the wall mounts to keep this gate in place. The pressure mounts permit the gate to slide to much if force is applied (our german shepherd would have no problem plowing through it if she had a mind to). This gate definitely serves our current needs, and we couldn't be more pleased with it. Once baby is crawling and walking, we will definitely use it with the wall mounts.

Really liked the height of this gate and it worked well for our purposes with a little improvising. We are using it to keep cats and kittens from going upstairs so we had to add some cardboard with luggage ties so they couldn't get between the bars. Not pretty but it gets the job done. Easy to put up and take down also. Only negative is the opening is narrow and even for me, an average sized woman, I feel I have to go through the gate more sideways than straight ahead.

I bought this to section off an area of our house for our two 75lbs dogs to stay in while we are not home. I was worried about the strength of it because one of our dogs is a bit of a brute and has plowed through or jumped over smaller gates before. This has been the best investment for our dogs! Strong, fits to our wall even with the baseboard at the bottom. It is easy for us to get in and out but impossible for our dogs to unlatch. Ugh! The BEST!

These gates could be more sturdy. My son has easily pushed them down cause they are not as sturdy as they should be for a baby gate. They serve the purpose i have for them now but it wont be long till my son realizes how to open them or just flat out pushes them down.
