Amazing

41' inches is great for your little climber. Eventually, more like any day now, hah, I am sure he will master this great par core style, but for now we have 3 of these Gates and there is nothing else like it. Believe me, we've been through to many for a little one that just turned 2

Not as good as I had hoped

I needed this gate because it is the tallest one I can find on the market. I have a cat and I'm moving in with a roommate with two dogs, one of which is a jumper. I read great reviews about this gate stopping large dogs, such as huskies and german shepherds so I wanted to give it a try. As someone previously mentioned, if you tighten the screws to fit in the door frame, the gate itself won't open. In order to open the gate, you have to loosen the screws, but then you run into the problem of it not being stable and it can be easily pushed down by a 40-lb dog. As reference, I'm using it for an area that is 30in wide, so it's well within the range of this gate. I'm going to try mounting it with screws into the door frame to see if that will fix the problem.

Great Gate, not so great hardware

I bought this gate because it was so tall and it would screw into the wall because our walls aren't the same width all the way up so other gates didn't work. The gate has been a life saver for me, I only wish I'd gotten it sooner since my daughter is 19 months old. The only thing wrong with it is that two of the screws that came with it broke almost instantly into the wall and we had to use our own. If we hadn't had any here I would've given it a lower rating, but since we had some on hand it didn't set us back too much. As far as the gate itself, its very tall, sturdy, and my daughter loves it even though we thought she'd hate it. If it is ever open she has to go close it herself and she doesn't bother trying to run into the kitchen to mess with everything like she used to she just closes and opens the gate like a game, so it's helped especially with putting up groceries and things like that. Overall, gate is worth 5 stars, hardware is 1, but we made it work easily.

We truly thought this was a pressure gate. It's not, you have to screw pads on the wall first then the gate is pressured onto the pads. We do like how high the gate is. We have only had this gate a couple weeks so we are not to sure how the durability will be. We don't like the latch lock system - it's made of plastic and locks weird. The bars are not far enough apart for our cats to get to their litter box so the door has to stay open a lot. The door only swings one way.

Excellent for keeping kitty out.

This gate is working fabulous so far! I brought it to keep my kitty out of the living and dining area. She loves to hide under our table and lounge on the chairs where she transfers all of her hair. She has also been known for swinging on the Christmas tree. I have a six year old and he is able to easily open the gate which is great! The installation process was also pretty easy. I suggest that you use the screws enclosed to keep the gate in place. My kitty is smart and on the heavy side so she could easily push the gate over if it where not anchored in place.

Works for me

Using this gate to separate the spaniel and the siamese. We installed just outside a doorway (as you would if door was at end of hallway)so it does not interfere with the closing of the door or the use of the doorknob. Easy to set up.(my eighteen year old put together and set in place in under 5 minutes without even reading the instructions). We did not use the plastic caps that were provided because the walls are paneling/brick. We've had it for a couple weeks and use it daily. Sturdy and easy to open and close although it does take two hands to open. Love the height, latch is at a level that requires no bending for those over 50. Shopped around alot and this is the best gate for a great price. Price ($42)was less than half of most gates. I would highly recommend this gate.

Nice tall sturdy gate!

Pros: Tall Metal Nicely painted Strong Easy to assemble Great value for the price No cross bars for a foothold Cons: Didn't purchase sooner! I accepted ownership of a dog that was being neglected by being left out on an apartment patio day and night, barking his head off, from the time he was a pup. While I am at work he and my first dog stay in the first bedroom with the doggie door. When I come home I let them out into the rest of the house. Then I started seeing the telltale signs this little boy was marking his territory. Tried various training methods, even had my living room area boxed off like a fort! Finally I said, this is my house and I am taking it back! With this gate in the doorway the dogs can see out but can not get out. My house is mine again!!!! I like the height of the gate also as it is at waist height and I don't have to bend down to open and close as I am coming or going. Feels very sturdy and will last many years. Whoopee!!!!!!!

Its nice and does the job

I'm using it for a dog, not a baby. Its probably better suited for a baby. When my dog gets bigger she's going to be able to knock it over easily. The tension system and rubber holders isnt the greatest. It looks nicer than the smaller wooden ones but I think those have better rubber tension grips. Overall, so far so good!

Gate Review

Gate is nice and sturdy, made of steel instead of plastic. Imagine that, something made of steel and not plastic. Unheard of these days. Like everything about it. Just wondering why 3 of the holes the pressure pins goes in are not threaded but the 4th hole is????? We put up the gate going into the laundry room where our dog stays when we are out. Easy to operate, no complaints.

WONDERFUL

I bought this gate to keep my four dogs out of my living room when I wasn't home, in an effort to lengthen the life of my living room furniture. It came in quickly, was extremely easy to install..and even my 100lb boxer mix has not gotten through or over this gate!! I found similar for over $100! This was a great buy!
