The installation of this gate was very simple in comparisson with other gates i have installed before. It is taller than the average baby gate so I can rest-assured that my lil one won't be toppling over the top of this gate either. The fact that it swings open makes it easy to get through for the adults and older children in the house (ages 5 + ). If you are going to use this gate for the top of stairs, as I did, I would recommend either using the little circle mounts to make it a bit more secure, or "Mighty Putty" on each of the 4 surfaces that meet with the wall. I used Mighty Putty and that has worked great to keep it a bit more secure, and i can rest assured that my lil guy won't push it over. Great baby gate!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this medal baby gate as a more permanent solution to my little granddaughter running in the kitchen around hot pans. It works wonderfully and was pretty easy to assemble and put up now she can play at the table while I'm cooking and I don't got to feel frantic that she bump into something. I highly recommend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My son is 21 month old and is currently in the stage where he needs to explore everything. We’ve tried wooden gates and he just climbs right over them. This gate is sturdy and tall. It’s height reached well over my hips and I’m 5’ 6”. It took me around 20 minutes to set up but may have taken less if my toddler wasn’t “helping” me. Once everything is ready to be placed up, you will find the gate swings open because the latch is distanced from the right side. Once the wall legs are adjusted, this spacing narrows to a fit and it all makes sense! It’s sturdy once placed and we needed up using the extension to place it in our hallway. It’s very easy to open with a pull and lift. The bottom can secure in place with two pieces that easily go down. Overall, this is a very well designed baby gate that is the most successful at keeping my son out of places he shouldn’t go and the gate looks really good! It’s easy for us to make our way through the house, as well, so I do recommend this gate.

This gate was to small for my for my normal size door way. With the extender, it was to big. I went to the regalo website, and they want to charge almost $20 for a smaller extender. I emailed their company, and left voice mails... Tried to see if they would do anything for me. They would not even respond back to me... So I returned it to walmart, and will never buy Regalo again.

I was really shocked at how tall this gate really was, but we love it. I used it in the doorway to my toyroom that leads into the kitchen. I run my own daycare and was concerned about this doorway because all my little ones love to try and hang out with me in the kitchen, and I am not graceful while I am cooking. This way it is tall enough for them to look through and not short enough for them to try and climb over it. Our Beagle puppy doesn't like it so much since she figured out she can jump things. Works great for us as a family, daycare and a pet owner. Love it! Highly recommend it! The only downfall is you have to screw it into the wall, but I have over looked that now that we have used it and has helped us out having it!

The length of the gate was about 6-10 inches too short. So I had to use blocks to support the gate. My stairs where I use these gate are wider than average. But after that the gate is great! I use it for my Great Pyrenees who sheds so much I can make another dog out her free floating fur. So she stays down stairs now and this gate keeps it that way.

I purchased this gate to keep my dogs in the kitchen when the doorbell rings. It was an economical, easy to install, solution to my problem. I would recommend this gate to anyone who would like to section off an area of their home for pets or, I imagine, children, too.

Product is made well and seems of good quality. I purchased this gate due to the fact that it was the tallest I could find (41"). I even raised it up a few inches to make it higher. However, my cat easily jumps over it! I bought it to keep both the cat and the dog out of my plant room and it just doesn't quite satisfy my needs. Many reviews said people were trying to figure out ways to let cats pass through (one model does have a cat door) but it seems jumping over is no problem. The latch works well but is a two-hand operation to open and a one-hand push down to close. Even though my cat has defeated this gate, I would recommend it for it's ease of use, installation, and sturdiness. I have two of these gates. One is screwed in and the other is held in place by pressure. It works well both ways.

The Regalo Easy Step Extra-Tall Walk-Thru Metal Gate does a great job of keeping my foster dogs safely corraled in the kitchen/laundry room ... even the worst fence-jumpers and escape artists! It's held securely by the little "cups" that screw into the door frame, so it can't be pushed over by an overeager, oversized pup. It opens and closes easily with one hand, thus freeing up your other hand to fend off determined doggies. The only drawback is the narrow width: If you're even the least bit "wide," I think it would be tough to get through this gate without doing a serious contortion act. I'm not sure why the company made it so narrow, but they might want to rethink that in future editions of this gate. Overall, it was a pretty good buy, and was the least expensive of all of the similar gates that we looked at.

This Regalo extra-tall walk through gate was the perfect solution for my problem - keeping my pets out of my new family room in my basement. This gate was easy to install - is sturdy - easy to use - easy to open and shut - and it does a great job of keeping my pets out of my family room. This gate was money well spent. I highly recommend this product.
