Although I believe it works great, I find the description and name very misleading. As my entryway is 42", it technically fit, but there is a bright insert in the package that clearly state that the metal should only be 3 inches or less exposed and it was definitely more than three inches on both ends to make it work. Just not a fan of a known hazard. I put it in a different doorway that it properly fits.

I bought this gate orginally to keep a standard sized, very active poodle in a mud room when we didnt want her out and about and used it to keep my baby out of the dogs food and water,, I purchased a second one to keep the baby out of my teens room, and now that the baby is three, we are using it to keep the dogs out of her room, as she is big enough at three to open the gate and go in and out of her room, but yet keep her door open so I can keep an eye on her. Now I am buying two more, one for the extra bedroom and one for the basement stairs, as the goldendoodle just went through my wood gate I had there. Wonderful sturdy gate, just not recommended for kids big enough(my daughter just turned 3 ) to open it if you are trying to keep them out of somewhere

The gate works... assuming that whatever the gate is trying to impede won't actually lean up against it. You see, there are two "pressure" screws on each side of the gate, but you cannot tighten the top screws very much, or else the gate won't close (due to thinning of the gateway). However, because you cannot tighten the top screws, be prepared to be creative in finding ways to hinder the movement of the top portion of the gate, especially if you have medium to large dogs that like to jump up...

Finally, a gate our extremely active dog cannot get over, under or through!! We had a little bit of trouble getting it up, but only because our railing was in the way (we put it up at the bottom of a set of stairs). It's very easy to open, close, and lock the walk-through gate. We're very satisfied with it.

This gate is easy to set up, but is not very strong. We have a 50lb dog that can easily knock this down if it is not EXTRA tight, to the point you have to loosen the gate to open the door! This would work well to keep an animal out of a particular area or would work well for SMALL children. Does not work well to keep a dog confined in a room unless it is a small dog.

This is a wonderful gate for dogs who jump high- it seems to keep them contained- We just love it. However if you are a bigger person you might want to get something eles- The gate door entrance is aprox 2 to 3 feet wide. & if you have lil bitty puppys they can get through the bars-just make sure your puppy is over 4 to 5pds- it will work perfect & you wont be disappointed-

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We got this gate so we can keep our toddlers out of certain rooms in the house. This gate is really tall and even my dogs cant jump it. The only thing i wish it had was self closing door i have to open it and turn around and lock it.

Great pet gate to keep my 2 cats and 2 dogs in my room. Because I don't want my pets to wander all over the house. Got the extra tall feature to keep my 2 big cats (11 and 16 lbs) from jumping over the gate. It's been working great! It was very easy to put up, no installation required. Only complain was took a long time to receive the product (3weeks).

I bought this to install at my kitchen entrance. I am using it for my dog, a golden retriever puppy who will apparently be able to scale the 30 inch versions of these gates when full grown. This has worked great for keeping her in one part of the house and gives her space when I am away - and I think the height will be beneficial. It's hard to say how durable it will be long-term, but quality and price seems to fit exactly what I needed.

This metal gate is very light weight and easy to install. I did not secure it to the wall. I just used tension settings to hold it in Place. It is strong but a large dog can bring it down. Once the dog was trained not to push it over it has worked great. It is a gentle reminder that the dogs must stay behind it.
