This is an awesome pergola! We bought this over a decade ago and just cleaned and stained it & it looks amazing for the age! This pergola has held up against strong winds and weather and is still standing! Highly recommend!!

Our home is always changing--inside & out; & every change creates a new "pop":. This time we added a room!! It all started after switching out the last section of old board decking to brick, matching the rest of the existing bricked deck--improving both the look & function of our yard. But, looking out at the expanse of this all brick deck, even with colorful furniture & our usual riot of plants, something was missing. Somehow, we needed to frame that section, a place where we entertain and also shelter a lot of plants. (I'm a gardener). It's Florida; summer sun is merciless on human skin and, more importantly, all of our plants shriveling in our summer heat; they can't hop up and escape into the AC. What we needed was a pretty shelter from direct sun; we needed a pergola! And this baby is a champ. Ordering was easy, the perfect size for our spot, delivery on time; my husband Bill added 2 applications of weather coating, we hired the brick guys to assemble it (we are old :-)). And now we have more than a pergola; it is a ROOM-- partly nestled under our old magnolia, decorated by our happy shaded plants, and furnished by our colorful furniture (I am a painter), the pergola frames it all and creates the perfect space whose form is lovely and which functions to give us what we needed: a solid, sturdy, shade-providing structure. We already have subprojects planned: our copper pelican perches on the top corner; to add even more shade, we are installing lattice panels over the widely spaced roof slats, and we are adding electric outlets for some good old Florida fans, also hanging solar lights to line the top structure. I will update this post later with pictures of the finished assembly, but I want to start my review now by saying what a responsive company they are. I had questions about the pergola we bought, and the people who responded were awesome. They answered my quedstions both quickly and thoroughly. I started by unboxing everything in the garage, and then sorting adn counting everything. It was all there, and it all looked great. Then, as the instructions suggest, I used a water sealer on every piece to protect the wood. We still have some assembly work to complete, but then I will update this review with photos and final thoughts. So far, though, it's going very well.

We laid out the patio stone and ordered what we picked out; unfortunately they told us the stone we selected, or any color stone for that matter, was on back order for 22 weeks. Thank goodness we didn’t order the pergola at the same time. We didn’t want the pergola laying in the driveway in cardboard and getting wet. We had hoped to have everything done for Christmas but thought that was going to be a dream. We checked periodically on the delivery but no one was going to answer. I had counted the weeks out on the calendar and decided to order the pergola. My husband said this is a mistake – the stone will never come in on time. When I ordered the pergola it was scheduled for delivery in 10 days. A few days later the stones came and the crew said they would be on it immediately. Right on time the pergola delivered it silently and in our driveway. Never saw the delivery man or truck. Checked boards and hardware and all appeared fine. The stone completed and we immediately started to build our pergola. My husband and I started and our daughter arrived in time to help. Three days and all is done – one day before Christmas. We celebrated with a dozen family and friends at the table under our pergola. Couldn't be more pleased with our pergola.

I really like the way it looks. The new mods of a seat and eating bar on the opposite side have made this product even better. It doesn't provide much shade, so I put 2 x 4's in between the roof 2 x 2's and it gives us shade from the hit Texas sun. X

It only took a few hours to put it together. All pieces/parts were included. Waiting on outdoor furniture to arrive and will add lights soon. I bought the 16x12 Beaumont Pergola in June and it really completed my backyard. My bottler and 14 year old put it together in a few hours. The directions were self explanatory, which made the installation process smooth. I was worried I got the wrong size, but couldn’t be happier with my choice. My backyard gets quite a bit of sun, so the pergola provided the right amount of shade for us to relax as a family. I would highly highly recommend backyard discovery, if you’re thinking about getting a pergola. I have absolutely no regrets with my purchase.

This comes in four big boxes weighing around 170lbs.each. All boards and hardware are labeled well. Me and a friend pre assembled most of it during the week in my garage. Brought in some more muscle on Saturday to carry the assembled pieces out back to the patio. With three guys we had it up and anchored in about 3 hours. Follow the instructions and lay everything out according to part numbers and you will be fine. Pre assembling saved a lot of time on Saturday.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We purchased 2 - 20x12 Beaumont Pergolas and placed them side by side on a concrete slab. I was amazed that a structure of this size could be shipped in 4 boxes (each). They are beautifully stained and we have received many compliments from our friends and family. My wife and I waterproofed and assembled them ourselves over a period of a week or so, not being in any rush. They are remarkably sturdy and we chose to add a polycarbonate roof in order to allow year-round use and prolong the life of the structure. We are very happy with our purchase and recommend this product.

Easy to assemble, almost completely by myself. (My wife helped to hold the sub-assemblies while I braced them) but otherwise easily a one-man job. I used 11X12X12 concrete piers for my foundation since my location is just on gravel over dirt. I added some roll-up shades and also added some sun screening material on the top for additional shade. Our Arizona summers are brutal and this definitely extends our outside time by at least a couple of months.
