Easy setup and startup

I just bought this and the setup and startup was easy. It started right up. I tested it on our camper and power tools. Ran great with plenty of power. I bought this unit because of the good reviews, price and how quiet it was supposed to be. It was all of that. Can't wait to take it out camping

Full Feature, Fantastic Price

I did a deep internet dive researching comparative products. For the price, this generator is chock-full of many of the features I was looking for. Other products had some of these specs, but not all in one product like the Westinghouse. It also looks sturdy and well made and provides more usable power than other higher priced generators.

Improvements. Satisfied.

Some previous reviews had me cautious, but this IGEN4500 turned out to be superb so far.. This current version is on it's game ! Packaging was near perfect and delivery could not have been better. Arrived in the minimum delivery time. Super easy setup / startup. Generator case access is an easy, no screw affair for battery and oil hatches. Battery hookup and oil fill access will be no problem. ( oil fill / drain is always tricky on this type platform). The unit started immediately and all functions tested out positively. Very impressed! Some previous reviews referenced difficulty with - Battery access, Limited functionality of some controls, Electronic choke systems. I had none of that . This has been the best I-Gen buying experience. It's a rather big unit, and at 100 lbs.. be ready to handle it. That's the point! Compare- you will see this is a good deal. FYI; This unit will be used at at an off grid / solar cabin in harsh conditions. -Westinghouse = Thank you for addressing issues and improving this product !

Great Generator - Westinghouse needs to fix….

Ok, this generator is dollar for dollar, the best generator you are going to get for under a thousand dollars. It’s super quiet and perfect for an RV park. It has many features that would cost you twice as much for with other companies. However, Westinghouse, fix the choke control coming unplugged during shipping problem already!!! First, this should not hinder you from buying this product. Go through the reviews and you will find unhappy customers where their generator ran rough and stalled. I did tons of research and found a service bulletin before I bought it. I got my generator and sure enough, it had the same issues many people complained about. It would stall out, run rough, and refueled to start. So, I opened up the panels, found the cord that came unplugged during shipping, plugged it back in, and now it works beautifully. But seriously, you’ll find reviews from over two years ago complaining about the same issue. So, Westinghouse, please fix this issue already. For setup, here are some helpful tips. 1. Don’t just fill up the generator with oil. Fill it with 3/4 of the bottle provided. Check the oil. Add a little more if needed and check again. Keep doing this until it’s full. Most likely, there’s a little oil still in it from the factory. If you pour the whole bottle in there, you will most likely overflow it. 2. Make sure you add fuel stabilizer to your fuel before you put it in the generator. 3. Check out the bulletin. You may need it. 4. The battery ships in the compartment but it is unplugged. So, plug it in before starting it. 5. Unless you plan to use the generator right away, I recommend only filling it a quarter full with gas. Fill it all the way up when you need to use it, that way you keep fresh fuel in it. Overall, I would recommend this generator. You just need to plan for an extra 30 minutes if setup since you’ll probably need to re-plug the choke back in.

Quiet running

I bought this April 23. 2022 and the set up was super easy . Even included the oil and a funnel. The best part was the remote. I stood 50 feet area around the cornor of my concrete house to test it and it still worked. Its queit and has many features. It even included a battery charger so that stays charged if you dont use the genrator for a while. My only disappoimtment is that the charger I recieved you have to remember to only charge it once a month and if you leave it on by mistake it could fry the battery. I am working to get a diffrent charger from customer service and at least they are responding so we shall see. But its a minor issure even if frustrating in a otherwise everthing I was looking for in a generator.

iGen4500 - Satisfied, won't run w/ Power Watchdog

It's only been running for 3 hours but I'm satisfied. Solidly built. Good operating instruction manual. Easy to start. Very quiet can stand right next to it and hold a conversation with someone. Little vibration. However, the remote start doesn't work, but the remote stop does. My RV has a built in, 50 amp power monitor system (PMS) that shuts power off if an incoming electrical problem is detected. PMS won't allow the RV to power up when connected to the iGen4500; it says there's no ground detected. Westinghouse Service Tech is looking into this issue for me. If they can't figure this out I'll be returning the generator. The generator produces +63 volts on the hot leg of a 120 volt outlet and -63 on the low side of the outlet, so 120 is measured between the two plug pins.

Bad quality control

Generator would not start. Took almost an hour to get fired up. Whenit did, it started good after that. The next morning, it wouldn't start again. I goy online and found out ALL THE PROBLEMS these unit are having. Mine is the choke, witch usually was a wire being left off, but mine was on. I guess I have a bad unit. It has less than 20 minuets run time on it.

Too new to rate

Westinghouse was so anxious to get a review that they automatically triggered this review at the end of the Warranty Registration process. I have not put oil or gas in it yet. I’m currently reading the owner’s manual. I do like the large carrying handles the transport wheels and the extendable handle. At approximately 100 lbs we can carry it easily where the wheels won’t roll.

Works like a champ.

In preparing for a trip to northern California with it's possible rolling blackouts I spent many hours searching for a generator for our 32 foot fifth wheel. I came across reviews for the Westinghouse Igen4500. It had high reviews and was rated very quiet and was fairly light. I really wanted the duel fuel but it was out of stock so I ordered the gasoline model when it became available. I unboxed it yesterday. the battery was not secured and had knocked the door off the generator. the battery was still fine. I secured the battery with the strap, hooked up the cables, and reattached the access door. After adding the oil I flipped the battery switch on and hit the starter button, Within a second it was quietly purring. I plugged in my RV and turned on the AC. It kicked on with no hesitation. I am very pleased with my purchase and look forward to our first outing with power on the go.

Quite satisfied so far

I just set this up and tried it out. It is very easy to operate and is even quieter than I thought it might be. I'm impressed they got this much wattage to come out of a unit as quiet and relatively light as this is. I have not used it in action with the Airstream yet but am confident it will work fine. I read some of the negative reviews before I ordered this (I find the best info can come from the negative reviewers as long as you can distinguish the ones that know what they're doing from the ones that don't know what they're talking about or just want to whine). It seems the worst complaint was having to manually adjust the choke if you were restarting the unit warm. They must have fixed that issue because I could not duplicate it. If anything changes for the worse once tested "under fire", I will update this review accordingly. Summary, thus far this is a great unit that performs as claimed. A great value and highly recommended
